@jarledb I bought one of these cards: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MEMSAM12120/Samsung-Pro-Endurance-64GB-PRO-Endurance-Micro-SDX

Really enjoying the camera. The DR750 writes enough data to fill the 64gb card in under 24hrs so I can see why my Sandisk card cooked itself. Yes it was the white car!

@sonyxperiageek That is what I was using but writing a 1080p 60fps + a 1080p 30fps stream to it for hours a day cooks it.

Didn't see a huge difference in video quality for the front camera between yours and mine.

I am curious how real world video is from the back camera. Because thats pretty bad on the DR650 and could be a reason to upgrade. Would be interesting to see if its easy to swap out the cameras though.

BTW: I thought my cards were read/write 48 MB/s, but turns out they don't state the write speed, and that the read speed is up to 48 MB/s.

I have an 80k expressway near my house. It's 2 lanes each way and I often am stuck behind people who sit at 60kph when the conditions do not provide any reason not to. I cannot understand it. Are they ignorant to all the speed limit signs around the place? Are they too timid to drive at the limit but too selfish to move over? Are they just plain dumb? I'll die and never know.

I don't follow, if its two lanes each way how are you stuck behind them?

If they <are> impeding traffic then complete a Roadwatch report, they will get a letter. Dashcam is king for recording the details you need for the report ;-)

Because there's another slow driving clown in the left lane tongue-out

The speed limit is the maximum it is not the minimum or a target. A slower driver in left lane is not a clown.

...and if the outside driver is not then overtaking they <are> impeding traffic and a 555 call or a Roadwatch report is the way to go as you see fit.

My comments are referring to Dunedin's Southern Motorway, part off SH1

Dual carriageway, straight roads, no roadworks.

AKA, no reason to go anything less than 100kph.

On the way in to Dunedin this morning, meet someone in a Work Safe car who sat in the right hand lane - I went to pass on the left but then got held up by someone who entered the motorway from the Fairfield on ramp - the two cars then sat side by side until the Green Island on ramp, where the car that had entered at Fairfield, speed up, crossed to the right land to let those coming from the Green Island on ramp join.
I was able to then pass both cars going up the hill to Lookout Point as they both sat on the right hand lane.

I can only assume that the Work Safe car was either speed limited or similar - however no reason to sit in the right hand lane the entire drive

The driver in the left lane is doing nothing wrong, the driver in the right lane should either complete an overtaking maneuver and pull over or pull over behind the car in the left lane.

Yes, I realise you can do that. I'd rather they get the hell out of the way in the first place.

Doesn't matter. I'm allowed to do the speed limit and if the guy in front of me is in the way, he needs to move. Besides, I'll call anyone I want a slow driving clown, regardless of what lane they're in.

Driving back from Taranaki on Saturday as it approached dark. If I had a dollar for every muppet who either didn't have their headlights on or just had their park lights on...

I partly blame the manufacturers for this increasing bit of muppetry - most cars have permanently-lit dashboards these days so its less obvious when you haven't got your lights on and it gets dark. My Toyota Estimas didn't even have a lights on indicator (just a main beam one) - not so bad on the one with auto lights but one didn't so if you weren't careful you could set off thinking your lights were on until it gets dark enough to see your headlights aren't on...

But the law does say word to the effect of: A motorist driving at a speed that impedes the normal flow of traffic must pull left and let it past.

This is an under-ticketed offence.

No issue with the driver in the left lane, but the driver in the right lane shouldn't hold a blocking position.

Don't lecture me. I don't know what makes you think I've suggested it's my playground - that comment is out of line. I'm legally entitled to do the speed limit and as long as the conditions allow it, I will do so. Driving within the law is in no way treating the road like it's my playground.
