Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but in Wellington, at least, the MEVO car sharing platform have multiple Polestar 2's on the fleet.

Yeah, I’ve watched many of Bjorn’s BB tests, and agree they provide a useful idea of capacity, but it can be misleading and will not always translate into real-world usage.
The Ioniq 5 is a perfect example: its back seats can be moved forward by a decent amount, as well as the seat back angle adjusted. The BB test takes advantage of both (see this at 3:30 at https://youtu.be/_w6KVqAnjog), meaning the rear seats are pretty much made unusable for anything other than small people for short journeys. That’s no use for a family like ours, which needs decent leg space in the rear for teenage boys. As such, the 11 boxes in the boot means nothing in relation to what we can fit in the boot when going on holiday - the critical measure for us!
TBH, I was somewhat surprised at the size of the Ioniq 5’s boot when I took one for a testdrive - didn’t think it was anything to write home about; not too different to that of my Mazda 6 wagon.
The other aspect is that a banana box is a fairly large (and therefore crude) unit; while it has close relevance to packing large and similarly sized objects (eg suitcases), in reality most loads are full of a variety of different sized objects, some of which may be poked into weird shapes and spaces.
Anyway, even without seeing the Y in the flesh I’m pretty convinced it’s going to give me a much more usable and flexible space for packing than the Hyundai or my current car. (It’s also going to be much more fun - even if a harder ride - than the Hyundai, which I found quite pedestrian, especially for an EV.)
Oh hello used market!
But why are people already putting their M3s up for sale - to try to beat the rush of those selling once the MY actually reaches NZ? It's going to be 2-5 months before the first shipment of MYs reach NZ - and that's if Tesla's current timeline is maintained...
I dunno, perhaps? As you say could be months off.

Pretty much everyone selling a Model 3 had bought it new, people that buy new cars are often people that change cars regularly. It is just like how the latest iPhone being released means there are a bunch of the previous model selling on TradeMe. Obviously not everyone buys a new cellphone every year or a new car every couple of years, but there are definitely some people that do this.

They are all people who have just ordered a model Y, there was 4 model 3s on trademe on Thursday.
They all bought a 3 to make do until the Y came along.
Question is why sell now when delivery is months away

22 out of the 33 listings were listed yesterday of today.
Should note that one of those listings is the sale of a old reservation at a cheaper price point, not of an actual car.
As such I think it is fair to say, the the sudden surge is correlated with the orders of the Model Y opening.
Can only speculate as to why.
Perhaps as you say, people who want to beat the rush of model 3's going onto the market, when model Y's start landing, and used 3's flood the market (There is a risk Tesla could ship most / all the model Y's on order for NZ at the same time, as they did for the initial shipment of model 3's).
- People who really want a model Y, but need the funds from selling their 3 before they are able to finalize that purchase.
- people who have been planning on taking advantage of high model 3 used resale values, realizing that the release of a new model may spell the end of their ability to sell at a profit.
Clicked on a few examples for sale, many have minor extra's (mud flaps, floor mats, ceramic coating's, sun shades etc), that imply the car's were intended to be owned and driven, rather than flipped. (unless you build something really special, you rarely get your money back putting accessories into a car).
If those 21 sellers are upgrading to model Y's, they are obviously in a position where they are able to operate with one car less for a few months until model Y deliveries start.

Others will just think now is the optimum time to sell to get max value out of their model 3.
Now is an objectively good time to sell a model 3.
So for a person who can make do with one less car, selling now is a reasonable decision.
I'm imagining people who:
etc.
There about 5000 model 3s in NZ so a couple dozen on tradme isnt much anyhow

Fair.
The low number of model 3's on trademe before yesterday, means that just 22 being listed, resulted in a tripping of numbers.

they really want to drive their big luxury V8 SUVs while they wait
was driving around Queenstown and every other house as a Tesla Model 3 and a - Porsche Cayenne / BMW X5 / Audi Q7
even my 8 year old kid noticed - "wow dad, in QT everyone has a Tesla, in Dunedin everyone has a Leaf"
i said coz their house price have risen by at least 1 million over the last 5-10 years so these cars are just loose change for them as they probably own a few properties in QT
Maybe to coincide with trademes no success fee deal going today?

Doesn't TM charge a flat listing fee for cars, as opposed to a success fee upon sale?
