Don't know if Christchurch is worse than other cities but we have a lot of very busy intersections where you don't get a green arrow to turn right. So everyone is forced to turn on late orange/red after making sure no idiot is still coming through straight ahead.

Thats where I'm at/above video is from

And well aware of that. BUT, the 2nd and 3rd car should NOT be following suit. Sure it may be only 1 per change, but It's quite clear cut regardless of how poopy it is that it should't be necessary or occur.

The number of times I've watched the lights, stopped on amber to allow the turning car to proceed - and they're so focused on traffic and not the light changing to actually turn tells me where the mentality lies. Watch for runners, don't feel confident in lights and drivers adhering.

I've reported this one to the company this van belongs to. Basically some contractor in a rush to get somewhere tailgating drivers (including myself) at speed then doing some lane switching to end up in the same lane again later on. Further on (not in this video) this driver continued both tailgating, merging into peoples "idiot space" as I call it all at some speed. He didn't achieve anything as I caught up with him later on.

Judgement reserved.

For those not in the know, this is a large 3 lane roundabout outside CHC airport... First one you strike getting into a rental and heading north. (they later went south darted across the lane to pull over to stop on the left of the expressway to re-evaluate)

2nd guy.. well dang. Bat out of hell and dangerous++ did the same out of range of view at the next roundabout

Really should fix my rego window sleeve

For a bit of variety, today's muppet isn't a driver but rather is whoever installed a local street sign. It's on the little triangular island that's used for a roundabout exit, with the name of the street on it. Except it's oriented the wrong way around, so you can only read it if you traverse the roundabout anticlockwise.

Edit: Having driven past it again today, I must revise this post. I can't completely fault the installer, as the arrow is pointing in the wrong direction. It seems that it's been installed in the only possible location where the arrow is actually pointing down the street.

NZ drivers reached a new low for me today.  Southbound on the Northern Motoroway just south of Sunset Road, two lanes of traffic doing about 60-70kph.  Some knob in a very muddy 4x4 pulls onto the grass to the left of the left hand lane, accelerates and overtakes a single car in the line of traffic before pulling back into the traffic and proceeding to weave between lanes in order to win a few extra places in the race to nowhere.

Travelled between Auckland and Whangarei last night and almost got taken out twice by idiots who tried to pass me at the very last second when the passing lanes merged. On the way back from Whangarei to Auckland I had a guy tailgating me with his brights on in the pouring rain I lost my cool and proceeded to slow down to 50 in a 100 I didn't break just slowed down, there was no one behind the guy behind me, he started to flash his lights and passed me.

Christ, two more senseless deaths on the road today. A car driven by a 15 year old boy crashed near Longburn killing a 12 year old girl. The driver is now reported to have died also. yell

No one else / other party was killed or injured, so what's the problem?

Mike, I feel for the family, however this is the best result from someone failing to stop for the Police, I've transgressed, stopped and copped the consequences. Life goes on.

Two dead children is the best result?

What a thoroughly disgusting thing to say!
