What about the Honda Elysion, I don't know anything about them but could be worth a look in?

We have an 8 seater Estima, yeah they are good, it's done about 233,000kms, ours is a bit rough but no real problems with it.  Before that always gone for Toyota Hiace's with retro fitted seats or super customs, but they are out of style now really compared to people movers.

Downside of the Odyssey for car seats is that the anchor point teathers go from the middle row across the top of the rear seats making them unusable.

This is incorrect. We have a 2002 Odyssey and the kids car seat teather goes down the back of the seat and attaches to an anchor point at the hinge of the seat.

No complain of product of the Odyssey. Although we are a bit snobbish and wanted the least people-mover looking 7 seater we could get, and the odyssey without it's sliding doors and it's low profile ticked that box.

there is oodles of room and my 6 foot father in law was comfortable enough in the rear seats for a 1.5 hour ride a wee while back.

Odysseys are cam chains as well.

The length can be pain sometimes, you can always find the car in a car park because it's the one with its butt hanging out.
