Usual level of competition in Christchurch today. I went by four stations, BP, Z , Mobil, and Caltex, all had 91 at 230.9
My Farmlands card gets me 11c a litre off at Z but that is only helpful if I am somewhere that there is a Z - nearest is a 75km round trip...so the 11c saving evaporates just going to get it!
My BP card gets me 9 cents off pump price.

it 12c at Challenge, Z and Caltex for framlands card - still does not help with BP
further report from Rotorua , still dropping down to 184.9
Common sense is not as common as you think.

BP are a special case for some reason, And not sure how they do it. But same for the kiwifuels card (no, still not got the average discount details of family member who has one yet..)
The discount for BP is applied at time of billing, and only off the 'national price' not pump price. So may not be discounted at all in some cases depending on region. Whereas the other options are normally an instant pump-price drop
These still current Christchurch 230.9 prices are actually a record high, according to a Stuff article dated May 18 2018 written by Liz McDonald. In that article she mentions 229.9. So there we are. I wonder what will happen over Easter with the prices.
So it's pretty much appears Christchurch is being used as a piñata for cash to subsidise profit elsewhere?
Keep calm, and carry on posting.

No matter where you go, there you are.
NPD in Christchurch on Stanmore Rd was 2.08 per liter this morning. Self service. no frills, but significantly cheaper than the rest.

Damn, Christchurch can't catch a break....
And I shudder to think what 98 prices are like, I thought $2.47 a liter (before discounts) here was bad. Seems to be sitting around $2.08 for 91 in Palmerston North right meow.
It was 2.11 a few days ago when I drove past a petrol station in East Auckland. I use my AA discount card and get notified when the local Caltex or BP have 10 c off per litre - that' when I go fill up
We're definitely moving back towards heavy subsidisation of petrol by those unfortunate enough to be paying the "national price". Most petrol in Auckland is now being sold for under the national price, and even those that are over the national price (such as the Z and Caltex at the airport which have traditionally seen no discounting) are not 11c more than the national price like they should be.
more news from Rotorua , paid 180.9 . You have to love a price war.
