I do not know the location.  Could the truck be using the wrong lane to go round.  A bigger combination vehicle might have to do so for either direction of exit.  For that your local knowledge allows for even greater indignation.

Please do not advocate for the Australian rule:  "The vehicle with its wheels on the roundabout first has the Right of Way."  In the depicted situation a boy racer could easily get a new paint job from any in road.

Play nicely children.

I had a momentarily scary experience yesterday when I encountered this driver

I was overtaking in the fast lane when I noticed headlights coming towards me. It took a moment to register what was happening as my brain has no previous hard wiring for this. Heavy braking and I managed to get in behind the car I was overtaking.  In my rear view, the car didn't stop, it kept on travelling down the lane. I was pretty worried there was going to be a fatal, so happy to see it had a uneventful ending. It was a small shopping basket, so I'm picking an confused elderly driver.

I loved the Asian gentleman stopped by the red Cop Car on Highway Cops this week (I think).  Two people had *555'd him doing 130, cutting blind corners, and generally driving like an idiot.  One of the first things he said to the cop who stopped him 'I must confess, I am Malaysian GP Champion'.  I don't know whether to laugh at his incredible arrogance, or be horrified.  Just glad I was coming the other way at the time.

The cops called the hire company who cancelled his contract, and he and his wife had to do the rest of their holiday on public transport.    Bless.

One I encountered the other day:

He turned off into a closed Countdown carpark. Seemed strange also. Suspect potentially drunk driver as he was breaking constantly leading up to this.

Looked lost to me...or maybe had a passenger directing proceedings...

I think I cut some bloke off this morning who, in my defence, sat in the outside lane and must have sped up as I overtook him. Ended up *555ing him as he chose to follow me closely for and then across several lanes before coming to almost stop in front of me on the motorway.

Probably lessons there for everyone, I think.

Some people think that other drivers aren't allowed to changes lanes, especially not into the lane they are in - which belongs to them personally. I see this all the time - somebody changes lanes and the neanderthal behind that car speeds up to manufacture a scenario that they believe will justify their rage.

OP: I assume you were doing a sensible speed?

In my case, I think it was probably a lot closer than I realised. I can see why he/she would have pissed. If I had a way of apologizing, I would.

If I'm not mistaken this looks like The Parade in Island Bay which has been an incredibly dangerous road since the council botched the implementation of the cycleway. It's very likely that the vehicle crossing your path couldn't see you because the cars parked in the middle of the road would have obstructed its view - I suspect the driver may have been making a right turn out of a driveway at a sharp angle like that in order to try and maximise their visibility of traffic approaching your lane.

Island Bay residents are currently in the process of taking legal action against Wellington City Council as there are numerous serious safety defects with the design of the road that the council refuse to acknowledge.

I know that the camera distorts depth but that car didn't look close to a near miss.

I've said before that any Island Bay resident that thinks The Parade is incredibly dangerous should stay at home because by the time they get to Adelaide Road they'll be a quivering wreck and it get worse.

Yep you're correct with it being Island Bay. I've had some near misses on there hence why I drive slow. This one was close, if I was doing the speed limit I would have hit the driver. Honestly, what a nasty piece of road!

Over the week end I got the front wheel of my chair caught in a pot hole while crossing at a controlled intersection. It took me a while to get the wheel out, in the meantime some muppet decided to bring his car right up to me within inches and sound his horn. I very nice young kid came and helped me for which I am eternally grateful
