shk292: On a related subject, has anyone appealed against a parking penalty at Albany Park & Ride. Arrived there at 0806 last week and due to lack of spaces, parked on a berm/verge area covered by low-lying scrub. Received a $40 ticket for that. No signs visible anywhere in the car park saying I shouldn't park there, and not causing an obstruction. Pay up or appeal??
It's like they make these car parks too small on purpose. On one hand, the council is all about taking public transport, then they build these park and rides too small. And now they can go around ticketing offenders who tired to use public transport.
The park and ride at Silverdale, just completed last year is already at capacity with some cars parking also at the rugby/tennis club across the road. I've seen some cars parking near the verge and parts of the park and ride which aren't marked for parking, I don't know if they've started issuing tickets there or not yet. I did see a warden issuing a ticket along Whangaparaoa road where somebody had parked a car for sale on the grass verge. It seems the Council are stepping up their enforcement activity.
