I think there was some sort of location spoofing going on a while ago.

They have disabled top ups while charging. I strategically placed some university students around New Zealand based on Z pricing a while ago... hehe.

It feels like Z has gone to a nationwide pricing structure as Gaspy seems to have very similar pricing across the country.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I've found that the trick is to not use your phone. The cheapest place in the country seems to be Balclutha. I added a 100 cents discount to Z so that it pops up first in Gaspy when I click 'show all'

Anyone know if any location spoof apps that work with sharetank, So can get cheapest price in the country. I guessing I need to have the app on a rooted phone at least.

Nope, Z seems to have latched on to that. They present a nice T&C error message saying location spoofing isn't allowed.

wouldn't talking about any loopholes here help them to close them?

Wonder what the impact of this NZH article will have on sharetank purchases: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/ukraine-russia-war-fuel-petrol-price-hike-warning-to-motorists-fill-up-now/OSGGPFUV4OAPY7OOPLZSOK4NOI/

I know I’ve maxed out my diesel balance and also carrying a little bit of 91 for the wife.
So far with the escalating fuel prices, I’ve come out on top compared to using my Fonterra card but that will change when/if prices settle.

So just used it for the first time to purchase some gas.  Something interesting happen however, after doing the scan around it found 95 @ $3.129 (looking on gaspy no one has 95 at this price, closes is gull @ 3.19, Z store is 3.28) and when selecting 91 it's $3.149L.  This is in albany, but would be interested to know if others are seeing 95 cheaper than 91

Yep, just noticed the same thing (checked after your post)
I'm central Auckland.

I'd just grabbed some 91 for the first time ever - now kicking my. & grabbed some of that cheaper 95 now you pointed it out.

Gotta figure how to use it up now. 🤣

I’ve become quite invested in sharetank at the moment.
91: about 150, purchased a week or more ago.
95: 100l, just purchased as 95 was cheaper than 91.
Diesel: 1000l. Purchased about 40% a few weeks ago, subsequently topped up.

Haven’t read whole thread, but I just joined share tank today. Purchased enough fuel for about 6 months for my normal usage.

Notice there is a clause in there that if they decide to close it, have 3 months to get rid of fuel so didn’t want to risk going overboard.

Interesting with the 30km price search I actually got the petrol cheaper then the price down the road with the pump discount.

I haven’t registered car plate yet, but that sounds the best way to go.

Suspended again when trying to top up. Called them and apparently "the system is down to unsuspend it" for a few hours. No way to explain why it suspended or any way to opt out of this BS.

Perhaps they have suspended it, while fixing the pricing issue.
