Yep did that with the Tunnel incident, attended twice, completed the form (which is actually an accident report form so not best suited to reporting non-accident bad driving/offending), submitted a copy of the video on a USB stick I had to provide (which tells you how poorly they are setup to deal with video evidence)...and heard nothing more... :-(

Time to start requiring actual professional training to drive before you can sit a test, I think.

The NZ driving style is becoming decidedly international. That overtaking manoeuvre could be right out of a classic Russian Dash Cam video, except the traffic is driving on the left side of the road. Lane changing and red light running in Auckland reminds me of my time driving in Malaysia.

We once complained to fonterra about one of their trucks who pulled in front of us on an open highway requiring some heavy braking on our part--- and they defended their driver. Said we could have still gone past on the left hand side of the truck -- technically true but I thought too risky. I guess the truckie knew we'd complain as they seemed to know about the incident.

The annoying thing is that there was noone behind us so he could have waited just a few more seconds and we'd have been past.

I would have submitted the webcam footage to police if I had one at the time :)

I made a complaint to a company once about a driver and they told their manager nothing happened and it was a "made up story". The company sided with the driver which I guess is the right thing to do without any "evidence". Sucks for their driver though because I intentionally withheld the footage and sent it back with a reply about how something did happen and they are happy to lie to their boss...

Was behind a driver doing about 60kmh in the right hand lane of an 80kmh zone today. I realised what the cause was when I looked in her rear view mirror and saw her eyes looking down to her lap. Her eyes barely looked out the front window! So I gave her a toot and when made eye contact with me, I gave her the"I see you" gesture. She just went straight back to looking at her phone! At the next intersection, when the light when green, the car in front of her took off and she was quite slow to react. When she did start to move, it was slowly and she drifted toward the island separating us from traffic coming from the other direction. Again, it's because her eyes were down! I gave her another beep, she made eye contact with me, sped up to maybe 70kmh and went straight back to looking downward. Absolutely unbelivable! She knew damn well that she was rumbled and just kept looking down away from the road! The arrogance is simply amazing.

Now, granted I couldn't see what she was looking at. She may not have been operating a phone. I guess she could have been... I dunno, filling out a crossword? Doing origami? Devising a cure for cancer on the back of a napkin? Whatever the excuse, your eyes should be looking at the road ahead, and sometimes looking at the traffic coming from the other 3 sides. But NOT downward!

I've filled out the bad driver form on the Police website. I guess they'll send her a letter asking her to cut it out. Whether she'll take any notice is anybody's guess. Given her arrogance, she'll probably ignore the warning.

Early morning today, raining a lot in Wellington. I started crossing on a pedestrian crossing (Lambton Quay cnr Panama St) and a motorcycle comes on and the rider shouts "Hurry up". Ah, he got a good earful. Idiot.

Today, driving to the bach on the open road, a people mover passed us on a left bend , the first half of their passing manoeuvre was on dotted yellow lines, the last half on double yellow and if a car had come the other way it would have been a certain head -on. Nice present for xmas eve.

Thought to myself, jeez, that took a lot of guts. Then, they did it again to the car that was in front of us.

Oh well , merry xmas anyway.

Driving to Napier on SH2 we saw a few people overtaking in dangerous places. And police worry about speed...

Overtaking on double yellow lines seems to be a thing now. If you get slightly frustrated then it is allowed apparently.
