Perhaps someone further south could be licensed to do the mod. Hint.

Hi all,
...
I don't have a way to measure the resistance on the pins so I resorted to opening it up. So now I don't know where to get a proper one and I was planning to have a look at a Leaf on Wednesday, guess I'll have to assess without one.
I bought this one. It works great.

Adding: When I thought I'd lost it, I ordered a second one...and it works great, too. :-)

is anyone interested in a full nissan leaf double din head unit conversion ?
this would convert your existing nissan leaf head unit into FULL english with ALL functions working and 100% in english.
Maps, GPS, charging stations, EVERYTHING in english.
this service has only just now become realistic and available in NZ and we will have the exclusive rights to it here.
This conversion is for the head unit ONLY, the dashboard will not be affected, tho i know people can covert these now for around $400nz.
note: there is nothing simple about this conversion, more than 1 year R&D has gone into this and it takes time to do, there is a waiting list of about a week at this stage.
There definitely would be interest. How can you be contacted?

So looks like the 2018 Leaf charger is still a type 1 https://electrek.co/2017/09/05/nissan-leaf-2018-next-gen-3/
So type 2 to 1 cable has some longevity in terms of use.
In terms of a type 2 to 1 cable, is this http://www.nzev.co.nz/type-2-to-type-1-32amp-5m-ev-charging-cable/ what I'm after? e.g. charge from Chch Botanic Gardens to a Leaf?

Yes. That's the one. It's 5m long. The 10m one gives you some flexibility if the parking space is ICE'd. You can park behind the offender and still reach the socket. :-)

I can send Gen1 & 2 Dash Nationwide. Except for the version with LDW/FEB (do not have that one spare in stock).
You swap it in 10 minutes and send yours back.

Of course people are interested. They were interested two years ago, they are still interested. First to claim AV conversion from Jap to Eng as a "Done Deal" was the guy from Auckland, NZ who actually refused to provide service to anyone and is avoiding contact ever since when approached on a few occasions.
Claiming something as a "done deal" and "available in New Zealand" with "GPS and everything" while it is in fact NOT, is "interesting" way I would say of doing your marketing research here on GZ and on Facebook.
Claimed technology (although doable in principle as Alexey is experienced guy) has not landed to NZ shores yet, NZ Maps for NZ for the Leaf are not available. Conversion has not even been confirmed through field tests by anyone in Russia as of last week. It has just been announced on youtube by Alexey with the price tag for Russian market and mandatory shipment of the head unit to St Petersburg. It's client base is mostly in European part of Russia and Ukrain as official Nissan Maps cover Europe. Not New Zealand. Too expensive currently for NZ users as I explained to Alexey last week.
There is a lot of work involved locally in NZ to do the job. But people are not prepared to pay for that today. Same with other regions where maps are not available for Leaf (e.g. Russian Far East).

Does this conversion also include changing the FM tuner to NZ frequencies so we don't have to fit those blasted band expanders?
If it doesn't fit. Get a bigger hammer!
hamish225: "it would be around or under $1100 nz"
You say GPS, so you can put NZ maps on there too?
Would you also convert an UK Leaf headunit, with GPS and NZ maps? Might consider that assuming maps are recent and upgradeable.
PhantomNVD: .....I’m not prepared to go ‘bleeding edge’ and pay $1,100 for a software update when I could just go $1,500 and get another whole console (though I do realise this won’t have NZ maps that way)
I think a price like $200-$250 would get you about 1,000 clients in the next year or so ($200,000-$250,000) but at $1,100 I’d say you’re likely limiting your market to the ‘premium’ range (like @linuxlover ) who are already prepared and able to pay ‘premium’ for the higher specked UK models ....🤔
Exactly, you absolutely nailed it. That is what I messaged to Alexey in St Petersburg today about what our people in NZ are prepared to pay. I said $300NZD tops. And mind you it is not "software upgrade" - BGA re-balling is involved. Chips on board are too small and easy to damage. While this discussion was evolving I just took another Leaf AV Unit apart (as some other enthusiasts who are keen to play with it abroad asked me about High Resolution photos of the chips). I would not be bothered with dismantling that unit from the car and taking it apart for $200NZ not to mention reprogramming and resoldering. Cheap labor somewhere in former Baltic States close to St Petersburg could do that for peanuts, but not in New Zealand. Right now there are English units on eBay for 1000-1200 from wrecks. Cheaper in USA. FM 0.1MHz shifter is made in Auckland for $120. Not needed in Welly or Kapiti.
That is the guts of AV unit:
