There is no exclusivity for that. St Pete man is trying to sell it as fast as he can knowing that Ukrainians and Russian boys are not far behind. Pretty Sure Sri-Lanka are also working on solution. Anyone could approach the guy and offer him money or buy the unit from him directly. As Business Process Analyst and Risk Manager - I consider current ROI not worth it...

I've got reply from the source a minute ago. Their solution would not be cheap. That's a pity. And Maps for NZ are not there yet for Leaf. Those are today's facts.

Offerings from the same source for other Nissan Cars have been discussed on this forum few times in the past. I remember people were not much excited about spending that much. Majority buy JDM cars to save money. XANAVI specialize on Nissan Cars. Prices were circa $1200USD for other Nissan Head Units. You can check their prices online on their web site. That is what their business is all about. Anyone who has that amount of money to spend can buy it directly. Anyone with pair of hands and screwdriver can reinstall the AV unit purchased from the Source themselves. It is plug and play. Delivery to New Zealand according to source is about 50 Euro.

Castigen - Would you kindly share the Flash dump for the Japanese version? I damaged some balls when removing the NOR...Unfortunately no one is keen to share this so I'm stuck with a dead stereo :( have replacement NOR

I have English dash conversion files to offer..

It is not like nobody keen, it is like - are you sure what you are asking for?

#1: Dude does not have flash dump, nor relevant experience in the field. He is just collecting express of interest and apart from the buddy who knows how to "move balls" has nothing else to offer. Or are you that buddy with "over 10 years of moving balls" experience?

#2: Alexey from xanavi.ru is smart cookie and had protected flash from reading, hence no way you can buy the unit and reverse engineer it. ;-)

#3 There are many variations of schematics inside, i.e. firmware versions, so dump from one unit will not work on another. There are few generations already. Even number of related chips vary; So for conversion it is not like get the dump from one and flash them all. Even Clusters have over a dozen different firmware versions in them.

#4 Question: when you say you have "files" to offer - is it dump from UK/USA unit you wish to trial on Jap one? Direct translation of Jap to Eng inside the dump is too much work to do, and not always possible as Jap requires less space vs English or Russian, hence different Flash are used sometimes (not always) in Car Electronics for JDM and EU regions making Direct Translation difficult if possible at all.

#5 When you say you damaged the chip - if that is the one which pairs with SD card, then dump from other chip will not help you. Have you already cracked the SD card password and have learnt how to make one from scratch and pair with eeprom? If yes I have 3 clients for you already.

Im not sure if you are coming across as defensive or not due to a conflict of interest but I will treat as 'not'..

It is my daily job to remove/reball/replace IC and have for the last 5 years, sadly not 10 :p / not affiliated .. It was extremely bad luck that my rework station hand piece had been dropped the same day and blew the element, should have listened to my gut and not attempt anyway... was far too eager that day, lesson learnt!!!

The particular NOR used in the Leaf is a fairly locked down flash and no low level machines will read it anyway.. what he has done will be a shimmed version to allow to work on JDM unit, the flash is also lockable so yes he has likely done this.. If the NOR reader wasn't 1k+ then I would say there would be more people offering this (probably still not in NZ though)

Files I'm offering are not for OBD2 solution but for eeprom flashing, the same way I'm assuming you are doing along odometer correction program. Im not interested in doing EEprom flashing nor am I into NOR flashing, wouldn't be able to justify input vs output

We have mapped out the locking sequence for the US version, JDM version is slightly different alleviating efforts at educated guesses :) It can be any japanese leaf flash dump, will be able to modify image based on what we have learnt from the US version.. I have organised another JDM unit to retrieve dump from but not sure when it will arrive, the sooner the better hence my efforts to source another dump in the interim

I would say its a conflict of interest issue for him which I can completely understand.. Maybe your Russian contact would kindly share a Japanese dump :)

But I do somewhat agree, the methods available are too expensive for NZ.. Alexey's method and yours is too expensive for the market, maybe if it was for an Audi then maybe but not for a Leaf unfortunately.. There is absolutely no harm in offering though, its on option among no much other options

There's a huge different when we look at "offerings" between someone who's been in the community for years and someone who joined last week and start posting commercial offering straight away.

Moderators have full discretion to look at people's profile, community participation and make the call.

Don't get me wrong, I also love a good hierarchy!

But what about 2)? You didn't answer this..

P.s. Theres also a huge difference between a full blown advertisement https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=162&topicid=223011 and gauging interest...

P.s.s. Whats the prerequisites to the hierarchy? 500 posts? 1 year service? Bloodline? .. Even though I am new, my suggestion is one size fits all and not some bulls' exception to protect the 'bloodline'

Just saw a link to this http://oemaudio.co.nz/Product-Detail.aspx?ComId=cb13dca9-153d-44c1-837d-72bbd9168930 on facebook, for the Gen 2 X & G Leafs.

Pity it can't offer navigation on NZ maps but it looks like a really good price for being able to understand the menu items in English - my ability to read Japanese is non-existent.

RUKI: This would be easy enough for me to change over myself? I'm pretty sure you have mentioned here that it is pretty much plug'n'play.
