Recently I had a problem getting my car to respond to one of my smart keys, I got it to work but rather reluctantly. When I got home I opened it up and replaced the battery - with a 2032 because I didn't have a 2025 lying around. The 2032 seems to work just fine, the key clipped back together with no sign of any issue with the fatter battery. I put a new 2032 in the other key too, I figured if one was low the other might not be all that far from running out too.

I'm thinking that the 2032 should have a bit more capacity and should therefore last longer, any reason not to always use a 2032 in the Leaf smart key?

FYI: Newer late 2015 - 2016 Leafs - Clock setting: Menu for changing clock exists only in "S" model, in X/G (identifiable by lots of buttons on the steering wheel) - there is no menu to change the clock in the dash. :-(

Or for those with UK leafs.
Settings
Clock
Set clock
Then enter time and exit....

What EV do you own and when was it registered...and is the address on the reg the correct one?

I got my EV sticker from NZTA who pro-actively posted it to me.

Yep? I’m ‘just’ outside Auckland and was supplied the EV sticker the day before the Special Access trial began here too.

Hello. I got a white ev sticker for the new prev lanes however not received the smaller blue sticker. Car is a 2015 x leaf. Purchased December 2016.

Many leafs at Dunedin Big EV Day out (135!!) had the little blue ev stickers so its a nation wide thing.

Has anyone seen an ex Japan Leaf without the CHAdeMo charging socket? According to this very informative website, https://samholford.github.io/leafguide/ the fast charge port was optional on the S and X model. However, I have looked around and am yet to find an example of one that doesn't have this port. I am looking at importing one myself from Japan and it absolutely has to have a fast charge port, however they are never listed in the specs and I am thinking that maybe in the UK or USA it was an option but for all Japanese made Leafs they are standard?

Yes, I have read that guide and it has some useful information. But still doesn't help if I can't see under the bonnet.

Yes I think you are correct. However if you look at the site I linked in my post it very clearly lists the S/X/G Japanese models in the options comparison, no mention of the US models. Hence my confusion.

I think a better question may be to ask if anyone has seen a right hand drive leaf with no fast charge socket. I think that maybe there is no such thing :)

Are you trying to order one from Japan yourself and afraid one may come without it? Next time I am at the dealership - I can ask if they ever came across one w/o.

Yes, that is exactly what I am trying to do. It seems that I can save $2-3k by doing this myself. I have done it before for my current car (VW Touareg) and it was a long but rewarding process. With an EV I reckon the risk is even less than a petrol car. Really the only thing that can go drastically wrong is getting one with a dud battery. But it seems even that is a pretty low risk. Only other major issue would be getting one with no SD card. Probably a good reason to go for an S model so I can put in an english headunit and not have to deal with a Japanese one.
