Whenever there is one on a road, and especially a multi-lane road (like the motorway or expressway), there is a pod of 90km/h cars surrounding them.

I'll stay doing 100km/h according to my speedo, which I know is probably 95/96, but I will still pass this pod.

It's a survival tactic used by some London motorbike couriers who get the matching white BMW and (at a glance) similar clothing, complete with 'POLITE" markings on their front/back etc.

Friend of mine had the Rover SD1 “jam sandwich” with polite on it and drove it for a couple of years until Plod gave up using them. Sold it to a film and tv prop company.

I saw a bicycle this morning in the AKL CBD, lane-splitting between two double decker buses (which also had other traffic and buses around them, then when the bus beeped at him for being a bit of a knob, he tried brake-checking the bus! On a bicycle!!!! With no brake lights!

and the is going to start law school, so i presume from this exercise he'd get credits that will give him an honours degree.

I wonder if this sets a nasty precedent? Poor lighting conditions at twilight, relatively new driver (held full less than a year) and was driving at 68km/h over the speed limit.
Road engineers do not set speed limits for their own amusement, this utterly makes a mockery of the law.

I'm sure police everywhere are sighing heavily into their coffee over the paper and wondering when they hit their first speeder who'll claim they should get away scott-free because this guy did.

This is not ok.
