There are 2-3 cars that regularly do this every morning of the week. It's nothing new or out of the ordinary.

not often caught on camera though. The motorways need hidden moveable speed cameras

Saw a guy in an oversize land rover doing much the same yesterday in AK, was probably doing 150-odd and swerving lanes at the last minute, driving along straddling lanes etc. Lucky it was relatively late at night and low traffic or it would likely not have ended well.

Any day on any Auckland motorway (or major road) you will see this - especially so at this time of year

How do we know the cam driver was doing 100 (and "coz he said so" isn't an answer)? And if he was, what where all the people in the other lanes doing? Normally around there, the left lane is doing about 60 and the rest are lucky to be doing 80-90.

That being said, I was actually passed on the left in a 70 zone by a learner about an hour ago.... then he slowed to 50 and then back to about 90, then 50.... I think he needs to learn throttle control. LMAO

Oh jeez :(
Why do people do u-turns anywhere near passing lanes? Madness.
So sad.

There are people who only look straight In front of them when they drive. I have had numerous people trying to turn in front Of me while I'm bearing down on them at open road speeds, or at urban road speeds.

Yeah, unfortunately true.
Had it myself last week. Lucky I had an inkling of what the young girl (restricted over here is probationary and have "P-plates") was doing. She near-shat herself when she heard my horn but better than a V8 thru her drivers door, which would've happened without ABS and me noticing her erratic driving. She'd turned right off a 4 lane road (80 zone), and while going 40-50 about 100metres up the road, veered left and then right for a full on u-turn, without once looking in the mirror to see me, and the 4 cars behind me. Glad I wasn't in a truck.

It's just sad that stupid moments like this can kill whole families, just for the sake of a few seconds.

Yup. Everyone I see on the road are idiots until proven otherwise, then you're safe.

If you go "i have the right of way, therefore I'm going to plant the foot on the gas", one day some idiot will drive into you. Too much paperwork for my liking.

That seems reasonably safe and relaxed compared to much of what you see in auckland!
