Hey guys,

I haven't been to Auckland for a few months, but sadly that's about to change, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any hints to where might be the best spot to try and park tomorrow near Mt Smart Stadium for the Foo Fighters gig.

Sounds like a smooth run of traffic and we'll make it there just before 4PM, but I'm not counting on things going smoothly as I've got family from New Plymouth milking in the morning (!!) before heading off up this way and not arriving until well after lunch, where they're jumping in with me so they can drink on the way/at the gig.

So, any clues, or anyone with one of those more costly than my house Auckland parking spots out of the area for the weekend who'll let me park a banged up 4x4 in their spot for an evening?

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

Businesses around the area with large yards/ car parks normally open them up for parking, for a small fee of course. I’ve always found this to be the easy way unless you don’t mind parking further away and walking in.

doctormaxim is correct: I think we once parked at 302 Church Str for $20. (12min walk)

I also know that there is generally ammple parking at the Kreem Cafe on O'rorke Str. A lot of people also just walk from the Penrose Train Station. We once parked on the Great South Road of the train station and simply walked across the bridge tot he venue. (1.6km 20min walk)

O'rorke road is normally closed for big events like this as thats where special event buses and all those heading to the trains leave from/come into the stadium
