Hello all.

As the title suggests, if one was looking for a second hand Nissan Navara Pro4X Ute - 2021\2022+ is there anything I should be looking out for?

Know faults or known weaknesses.

Any specific questions I should be asking the dealership.

most common complaint is the coil suspension. its either to soft and can't handle a load (or more correctly an overload), or its to harsh. i suggest test drive to check, and there is plenty of after market springs etc for them.

not a big problem but the turbo vac controller filters tend to plug up quickly because they are up the front of the engine. there is aftermarket kits to relocate them to the firewall.

airfilter box hinges tend to break. there is an aftermarket kits to strengthen that.

intercooler is in a poor place. it works okish. again aftermarket kits around to relocate that and increase performance.

naravas never had cvt gearboxes.

if your DIY maintenance, oil filter is in a sod of a spot, has fancy (expensive) sump plug washer, and the proper spec oil can be hard to get as they are actually a Renault diesel motor.

What’s the use case for the UTE?

are you just wanting to lug about your possessions and recreational gear or are you in the trades or an adventurer?

when I’ve driven utes, they must all have some kinda manufactured zoom in the side mirrors….maybe it’s to help reversing…. But I often find that’s why UTEs get a bad rap with other motorists…..you simply can’t judge that you appeared to just cut off someone.

Purely recreational and handy to have the space to shift stuff as and when!

We like NZ travel and as much as we pack light, feel that a ute would be ideal for our needs.

Thanks for the detailed reply, the Navara has been round long enough for the aftermarket upgrades to be established to rectify the few issues.
