Hi There!

I read an article on NZHerald where the following sentences were. I was wondering how you "transport" a 737.

"On inspection, the engineers have found that oil did leak from the engine," Air New Zealand spokesman Mark Street told NZPA.

"The plane will now be transported to our engineering facilities in Auckland where it will be fully inspected to find the cause of the fault

LOL, well spotted. I guess they meant the faulty engine  :)

I had images of them either dismantling the entire plane and transporting parts, or trying to stuff it into the back of a hatchback with the esteemed Rob Fyfe yelling, put your back into it you lazy so and so's!

I must admit, especially lately, the quality of the content checking at NZ Herald online has been particularly poor.

Yahoo do it as well whoever writes some of their stories needs to review what they are writing before publishing it.

I think they just reproduce other news organizations articles.

Maybe Air NZ sent that 737 over to Qantas for servicing ;)

It astonishes me the way Qantas continue to deny ongoing and systemic issues with their planes and maintenance. Their board should fire the CEO categorically. It seems it will take someones death to make them fix the issues!

What issues, exactly? The two high profile incidents - Singapore and Learmount - could have occurred on any alrline operating the same type of aircraft.

Say what now? There have been incidents reported almost weekly for 2 years, plane diverted here, plane unable to land here, bit falls of plane during take off or landing.. and on and on and on.

They had 3 incidents in a week not that long ago.

Yup; fully agree with the sentiment that those incidents could have happened to any airline; BUT they didn't and incidents continue to happen with Qantas...either they just have the worst luck in the world (literally) or they have some issues that need to be dealt with.
Either way - my arse won't be sitting on a Qantas plane.

Some months ago both Fairfax and APN decided to lay off some sub editors and sub contract the service. Add to this the fact they syndicate content in what seems an automated fashion, and no checking...
