Ordered a couple too - I note that Paradigm has now labelled theirs "***Clearance Pricing***" which I don't think it said last night, so maybe it's intentional pricing?

Acquire has now removed the cheap price.
The Ascent link won’t let you add to cart and if you search their website for g4 doorbell it only finds the pro model.

PP no longer says clearance pricing but still listed as $95 inc shipping.

Does anyone know if I can use a Synology DS920+ to store the video for this?

No, pretty sure you now need a Unifi Protect device for all their cameras and camera devices.
EG: UDM Pro / SE, Dream Router.

Any thoughts re this and standard Dream Machine. I saw a Reddit thread that says you need that Protect thingy and a reply in the same thread saying it should work for one or two of these devices attached i.e. limited number.

Ok so before I buy because of price, what can I do with this?

I have a ring front door bell with subscription.

What do I use to record the video from this one?

You'll need something like a UniFi Cloud Key Gen2 Plus (~370), a UniFi Dream Machine Pro (~$928) (plus additional storage drive), UniFi Protect UNVR-4 (~$839) (plus additional storage drive(s)) or UniFi Protect UNVR-Pro (~$1,202) (plus additional storage drive(s)) to record the footage to, and play back from.

Benefit is you own the data recorded by your cameras, located on your own hardware - whereas Ring have been know to share video footage from customer devices with law enforcement without that customer's permission.

Ubiquiti has a pretty good Unifi Protect app to view/review/download footage from Doorbell and the rest of their camera range, and good motion alerting notifications too.
