Came across these in The Warehouse, from a good brand and i have tried them and they work well. Elsewhere they are around $30 a pack.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Thanks. Wife wants to know if you have to unwrap these ones?

Instructions state: "do not unwrap or pierce the tablet"

I needed a new stock of dish washing tablets last week, and found a few new ones now on the market that are quite cheaper than the 'named' brands.
I got a brand called Exonic ... $20 for 100 tabs at Bunnings.
They are smaller than the Finish brand, work very well indeed.
Local Warehouse didn't have any Morning Fresh ones otherwise I too would have tried them. My daughters says Pams now have a full range of dish washing powder and tablets at very low prices.

Yep - best to take them out of the plastic bag prior to use.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
For tablets I've often wondered if you're meant to wedge them into the dispenser and close the lid, or just place them anywhere in the dishwasher? I have heard conflicting opinions. (I currently just use powder.)

@enserf we usually just insert the tablet into the dispenser, because our machine does a quick rinse before starting the full wash. You can hear the click when the dispenser opens up, which is around five minutes into the cycle.

Thanks. I think ours does likewise so will do this in future.

Between these cycles, they drain all the water. If you "throw in a pill" to the bottom of the dishwasher, you'll get a better rinse, but cleaning will be reduced because you have no detergent during the wash cycle. That's why the drawers have that "pop" mechanism, so they can dispense the cleaning agent during the wash cycle.
Our F&P dishwasher (a terrible, cheap hunk of junk that I want to stab with a screwdriver) actually recommends putting two pills in, one in the bottom and then one in the dispenser. I always thought this was stupid until I learnt why. So now I shake in a little powder from a bottle for the rinse cycle but still put a "pill" in the dispenser. And now I get super clean dishes.
Thanks, @vexxxboy ordered five bags now.

A number of machines have two powder slots for this reason.
One that allows the initial rinse cycle to have a bit of powder to make it more efficient, and then the main load of powder for the "wash" cycle..
Sprinkling powder over the dishes before you shut the door, is smother way to help the rinse
I always overfill the dispenser so some goes into the main body of the dishwasher too.
