nathan: Fair call
You have to remember the price of this thing. You get what you pay for.
Its us$99 and not shipping with vulnerabilities, security misconfigurations and security backdoors like low cost Android tablets

mrtoken: A bit of an update on mine
Amazon has agreed to cover more of the cost to send it back and will refund the purchase price.
I picked up a local NZ one yesterday that does not have the problem so very happy with the device, still a bit pee'd off with the issues of the first one but that is life.

CokemonZ: I have a stream 8 from pbtech, the NZ version.
Can confirm, no 3g/4g.
32gb storage.
Ipass wifi included
Takes a 64gb micro SD card.
I had the wifi problem too - ramdomly disconnecting or showing as limited.
Updated the bios and installed the wireless drivers from the hp support site. 3 hours and no problems so far.

Are you sure about the 3G? The K2L01PA which seems to be the model stocked here makes mention of a microSim slot
