Nexus 5 NZ model at playtech for $649 incl GST

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Was just going to post this...

I'm really conflicted as to if it's a good deal or not - I mean it's a great deal, but does anyone want a last gen RT tablet?

Lol, I was heading here for the same reason.  Hence the usefulness of a thread like this!

So, what's the vibe, is this thing any good?
Wow, it's a 10" display, that's sounds seriassly good.  That price puts it up against little pokey 7" Android devices for example.

I think at $280 you'd be certainly happy with it, cheap as chips.  More good apps are coming to the Windows 8 store every day, and it comes with full office for free I'm pretty sure

Could somebody confirm this? does the upgrade to Windows 8.1 include outlook? or is that on surface 2 only?

For $280 it's a steal. It's a GREAT tablet and certainly the only one that could be used to do any actual work in my opinion.

Does this mean you get Office 2013 for free when you upgrade from RT to 8.1? Does the upgrade cost?

No, you get Office 2013 for free out of the box. The free 8.1 update adds Outlook 2013 into the mix as well... the licence with Windows 8 RT clearly states it's for non commercial use, though, but when I hunted around for what was the case under 8.1, I couldn't find the same emphasis however.
