mrphil: any black friday deals?

Ars Technica has a good list of some US deals, if you take into account GST and shipping charges with YouShop.

networkn: For $280 it's a steal. It's a GREAT tablet and certainly the only one that could be used to do any actual work in my opinion.

Many reviews I've read say that it needs the keyboard to function at its best (same for the Pro) - I'd imagine this was particularly the case if you want to use it for doing actual productive tasks.

At that price I could have bought three for the same money I just plonked down this morning for an iPad - one for my wife, oldest kid and myself!

the keyboard changes it from being a consumption device into a real productivity tablet

Still the on screen keyboard is awesome too

I don't see how the choice of being able to plug on a cover than you can type on with the keyboard is a negative

Reviews that I read yesterday of the new Surface Pro said that it should be supplied with the keyboard, given it was critical to getting the most out of the tablet. Guess this is less of an issue for the RT, given its (way) lower price point, and that many will be using it for things that don't require a keyboard. One of the main reasons for spending so much money on the Surface Pro is specifically for it's laptop-like power and functionalities.

Even adding one of the keyboard covers to an RT that's still less than $400 in total.

Another reason to spend that on the Pro is the fact it runs full Windows and can connect to your corporate network. If you need/want a keyboard, nothing stopping you from getting one, either a wireless USB or Bluetooth one for at your desk, or a type/touch cover. Packing one with it sort of limits your choice and increases the price.

Mighty Ape have an $18 shipping deal on that gives you free (after the $18 of course) shipping for 3 months with no minimum order value. And I just ordered my goodies yesterday!

Cheers,
Joseph

The 3 month prime ape month isn't good, if you want that go for a entire year at $59 instead..

Also does not include mightymart shipping :(

I misread, I am aware of what it is. It's not really a "deal" or "bargain" as $18 x 4 is $72 which is more expensive than buying it outright.

I always believed that a smart CEO would say to customers who spent over X amount or who had x number of banana points that they could redeem them for Prime Ape. It promotes higher number of sales.

The guy has always shown himself to be disinterested in feedback in my experience.

More promotions and cashbacks if you've bought some of their products

http://www.nikon.co.nz/en_NZ/about/events_and_promotions.page
https://www.epson.co.nz/competitions/data/index.asp
http://www.fujixeroxprinters.co.nz/en/promotions.aspx

Other promotions I listed earlier are at

Unfortunately the pink camera was only a day sale and they've bumped the price up by $400. Pricespy has an Alerts feature so you can keep track of item prices.
