richms: They make it really hard to buy in shops when the remote isn't available to look at and they really can't tell you anything about the tv.

I would consider replacing my tv if there is one that has a single button on the remote to switch game mode on and off. Because I keep forgetting and then playing games and sucking and then realizing it's looking far too good and I have game mode off so it's laggy. Then it's 8 or 9 button presses to navigate menus to toggle it and then things are good till I want to watch some youtube and have to turn it off
But no remote on display. Sales people too busy. CBF waiting. Although the 65" lg is tempting me I'm not going to pull the trigger on that without more info. And I can find that online. And I can buy it there too.
Sony
richms: No, its a flat one I was looking at. Curved ones look stupid when wall mounted particually if you have a mount to aim the down a little bit.
The PB boxing day sale is annoying me a lot. There are many many things that are "INSTORE ONLY" and only have stock at the logistic center. The saving is stuff all, and there is no way for me to order them from the logistic center even at the normal price. FFS PB really onto a winner there! Come to our shop to buy these but we dont have any there so you cant buy them.
Sony
sonyxperiageek: when you switch TVs I wonder if you can migrate to the new TV with all the settings for the old TV still the same?
Jaxson:I watched the dark knight on an imax screen and noticed it changing aspect ratio throughout the movie.reven: terrible thing is if a movie is filmed part in imax and part not, eg the dark knight, it jumps from 16:9 to 2.25:1 between scenes, so annoying.
Not if you watch it on an imax screen like I did ;-)
'Loosing Screen Realestate' is quite the OCD concern. No one complains about the wide aspect ratio at the movies, when watching them as intended...
But agree, back on topic here.

No one complains at the movies because projectors are not fixed to a screen size like a tv. Usually the trailers and ads are 16:9 but when the wider ratio movie starts the curtians are drawn back further, so you gain screen real estate not loose it.
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
