Im sure the flyers will be in the mailbox tomorrow. We got a Boxing Day Sale catalogue from EzyBuy a week or two ago.

Probably exactly the same deals as every other 'sale' going by the last couple of years. I am sure there are exceptions depending what you are in the market for, but boxing day sales are a bit ho hum now.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Yeah, 20% off RRP, which no-one in his right mind would ever have paid anyway.

Maybe there might be some loss-leaders to drag people into the shop though?

Maybe old stock that couldn't be sold before Xmas? Iphone 4 anyone? Galaxy S3?

The days of Boxing Day sales being massive are long gone.. With the odd exception it's the usual discounts you get off products at any other time of the year.

None of this stops people going made however and buying lots thinking they're getting bargains!

I'm hoping for a decent discount on a Webber BBQ - dont know if they ever discount them as they are the same price everywhere you see them.

Guv: I'm hoping for a decent discount on a Webber BBQ - dont know if they ever discount them as they are the same price everywhere you see them.

I reckon you could make a killing parallel importing them from the US and on selling them - the margins on them in NZ are terrible.

It's a shame they're a little heavy for You Shop!

Anyone recall from last year if any stores discount Apple products on boxing day?

Im looking to purchase the new 27 inch apple iMac with 5K display, 10% off would definitely be worthwhile, 20% would be fantastic but very unlikely.

I suspect similar to Black Friday this year which has been a fizzle. Pretty much everyone has their TV, hard drives computer, speakers over the past couple years of supposedly 'good economic activity'

You would have to provide CGA protection on them though, so the markup in NZ would cover those costs. So the margin may not be quite as good in the long run.

Rarely discounted, so don't hold your breath. If after the Q series, it is worth paying the extra $50 to get the model with the temp gauge, electronic start and slightly higher lid. Limited suppliers - in Wellington it's 4 seasons in Mirimar - they would be able to point you to a supplier in your region.

I wasn't meaning so much doing it on a large scale - but just bringing in a pallet load and selling them to friends and family.

In Waikato - there are plenty of places selling them here. Might have to go for a look around a few shops on the day. I'm after the charcoal kettle. Warehouse selling them for $100 less than everywhere else but I doubt they would cover the 10 year warranty as they are parallel imported.

Mitre 10 would not price match as the bar codes were not identical - everything else was ..
