ubernoob: I went, I saw, I left empty handed.
As above, prices lower than RRP, but nothing I looked at couldn't be found cheaper on line.
PS4 cheaper on Mighty Ape

So you think its mainly like a huge sales marketing stunt for nothing.

I did hear that prices are probably 4% cheaper than their store but thats about it.

I was driving by there just after 9 this morning but it was $5 to park and a bit of a queue to get into the car park, was too much of my time and money to waste on the off chance that they might have the one thing I need (and could probably get cheaper online anyway)

some of the TVs have big discounts.  The brand new Samsung 55" curved UHD U7000 tv, for example, is on sale for $3296 versus $4299 online.  The LG version is $3498 versus $4299 online.  Being new models (few days old) you might struggle to barter them down instore.

I'm sure there are good buys there, I wasn't looking at big TV's or white ware. Was just looking for odds and sods for cheap presents I could put away for Christmas . Trying to spread the load on the card :-)

Saved about $720 off the RRP of an oven, or about $300 better than the best 20% off sale price you'll sometimes find.

Worthwhile for bigger ticket items definitely, but the crowds are going to be a nightmare at the weekend.

Harvey Norman have a Panasonic 32" HD LED-LCD TV TH-32A400Z for $257 - that looks like a good price for any 32".
