If anyone goes into a store and sees the fancy looking speaker cables with a decent discount, please post here. That and AA and AAA's are about the only useful things left there that I would want.

30% off all cable (on rolls)

20% of all batteries

tripp: Why the hell do you highlight the old price in yellow.  Most people are drawn to the yellow over white colours when it comes to marketing.

It is a very badly designed sign.

I think the person who wrote the sign agrees with you - looks like they have written the prices in the wrong boxes. That makes the math closer, but still wrong (33.33% off, not 30%).

First thing I noticed was the ridiculous price for what is a $5 cable , at either of those DSE prices
Who is silly enough to pay $30 for a HDMI cable?

Please Keep your posts about discounts, not general chat about DSE.

I had a look in The botany store. The price check for a 2m figure 8 power lead was $12.

Hey moderators, can you clean this up to include only postings of deals!!

It has descended into a discussion about how much an HDMI cable should be worth.

Is it not advising the uninformed that the deals being posted may not be as good as they seem and to be wary?

Edit: After reading MF original and subsequent posts I stand corrected.  Apologies.  Only discount info to be posted.

30 percent off travel adapters. Looks like these are selling well. (NZ to USA power etc)
AA batteries but not many left at Riccarton.
Finding these two genuine bargains was not easy! It seems the sale is going to grind away for several more weeks.

Dunno about that. According to the website it ends on the 11th. What happens after that I have no idea.

It looks like they are doing a reverse type of auction, where they are just going to keep dropping the prices as each week goes by, until stuff is gone. Anyone purchased any shop fittings, or anyone noticed any stores with price tags on them? I am looking for a glass display cabinet, although suspect the ones DS have won't be in great conditions. Sometimes these receivers put big prices on shop fittings, when if they end up in Turners, you can get shop fittings for a song.

So far, they haven't offered more than 5% off Apple products. Traditionally, Apple never discounts that heavily but I'm wondering if the discounts might get better towards the end? Unless they are able to return their stock back to Apple, in which case I suppose 5% is about as good as it gets.

Unless they discount them by a lot more, they will never clear the stock. I mean there isn't much demand for ipod these days, and there is no retailer CGA protection. Maybe they can return stock, but whether they will be charged a restocking fee?

5% for no CGA coverage? No way is that worth it.

I saw a sign on all the JVC tvs that there was no manufacturers onsite warranty service with them which I guess is telling about who they come from ;)

The online store has the current specials even though they are listed as "In-store only".  There is a link that lets you check store stock levels based on post code.  Most responses say 'Sold out'.
