me too, am watching for the LG OLED65C7T, price spy says smith city had it for 3999 for 1 day last month,

if i can find that pricing again will jump on one

if not will probably go for a sony with direct led and array dimming in 65 as a compromise at around 3k hopefully.

How does one know which tv has direct LED and array dimming?

There is no way in the world that TV ever legitimately sold for $3999 for the 65" so you won't be seeing that price again.

It's disappointing that LG don't appear to have launched the 65" B7 in NZ and are only bring in the 55" B7. The $2999 at Noel Leeming for the 55" is a great price, but their suggest that it's genuinely $2000 off is nothing short of a lie. The C7 hasn't even been selling for that price.

For comparison the 55" B7 has been selling for around A$2499 in Australia and is down to A$1899 as part of their boxing day sales.

Certainly at $2999 (or around $3500 for the 55" C7) they're the best TV's you get in that price range. Period.

I assume by the Sony you're meaning the X9000E? These were down to under $3400 (from memory $3338) at Harvey Norman a few weeks ago, so the $3088 they're selling them for now isn't a bad price. Noel Leeming are selling them for $3591

Apart from the LG OLED Noel Leeming seem waaaay off the mark with their pricing on most products, Harvey Norman are smashing them.

I probably wont buy either, but I'm interested in Iphone 8+ and a Surface Tablet/Laptop (13"). If anybody finds any good deals please post here, although I'll be looking at all the sites also.

There are dozens of alternatives to the Surface that beat it for service, reliability, durability, and value.

We have greater than 100% failure rate (some devices have failed and been replaced more than once) among clients with them.

The HP 1012 G2, the X360 Elitebook 1030, even some of the Lenovo's are superior.

Doesn't look like any of the Surfaces (Or Iphone 8+ for that matter) are discounted anyway. Do you find the same problems with the Surface book? It looks so slick...

Im looking for one too. With out doubt the highest quality Notebook on the market. Was funny when MS released it, Apple were embarrassed to unvail their new amazing "touch bar", which totally sucks. Selling my Macbook to fund the Surfacebook, even a surface pro would be awesome for LightRoom

My sons 3 yr old surface failed last week :(

We also have a couple of Surface Pros at work and they all seem to fail after a year, either the screen starts flickering, or they just die.

Admittedly it's not personal experience for you, but assuming you believe me, I have a SP3 (i5/8G/256) that has been perfect in the couple of years I have had it. Not a single gliltch - autoupgrades to new version of windows and FW updates have all been seamless.

Surely you understand that if virtually every surface device failed, they wouldn't actually sell them, right? It doesn't matter how big you are, if you have a product line with a 100% failure rate, they will stop selling them - to think otherwise is willful ignorance.

We have the SP4's at work rolled out this year. I think every single one has been replaced already, or close to it. I am on my 3rd in less than 12 months. Rubbish they are.

Back on this thread, I was at HN last week looking to by a particular piece of home theater equipment worth $500, when the salesman gave me a sly nod and wink to wait until boxing day. Been excited for a week to find out what massive deal they would be offering and how much I was going to be able to save, being grateful for the insider tip. Sale price saves me a whole $11

I think I'll stay away today.

Boxing day sales ain't what they use to be...sigh

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

I has settled on the Surface Book 2, looked great I searched out being able to service a laptop e.g. dust is one of the things I look at.

Check this video out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8n05oYQzUY it changed my mind.

Stupid decision to basically make this laptop unserviceable at this price, I was very disappointed with Microsoft.
