There are hundreds of companies blacklisting freight forwarding addressing due to export control or local licencing agreements.

Ain't just LEGO

Nike, Bauer, most branded ice skates to name a few because theres a NZ distributor. Geo control isn't just tv shows :/

The last comments/updates was the usual PR 'we've been listening - watch for updates'. But too late now

BrickLink - BrickLink News

In summary

  1. For Round 1, we will increase the number of sets available from 5,000 to 10,000. Castle in the Forest has already reached this amount. The four other sets will re-open to additional pre-ordering on August 3rd, but it will not be possible to pre-order additional Castle in the Forest sets. The additional production run will delay in shipping and release dates for crowdfunding rounds 2 and 3.
  2. All future pre-orders will have a quantity limit of 1.
  3. Unfortunately, in the current LEGO.com setup we are not able to ship to additional countries.

Increasing production will delay shipping and future rounds of crowdfunding. Since we are doubling the production run, the additional 5,000 sets for Round 1 will be shipped in June 2022, as opposed to January 2022. This will also delay the release of Rounds 2 & 3. The final plan for this will be communicated at a later stage.

Oh so 3AM on the 4th again for us :P

When you see the documentary on the factory. Production run delays that long seem a bit odd.

Unless they are waiting for other stuff to be built and hand picking from the bins (possibly be faster). They punch out thousands of the same colours in different forms at once and then separate from there. And there's not many colours! Would think that adding another 5000 of each brick given how fast they punch them out wouldn't be that tangible.

Orders re-opened at 7am today but I don't know if they all went within a couple of seconds or it's just not working but when I click the Pre-order on LEGO.com button, it takes me to the Lego site but then says "You don't have anything in your bag" and searching Kakapo on Lego.com doesn't bring up any results.

Thanks, it's working for me also now. It charges for shipping but like someone posted here if I contact Lego support it seems like they'll remove the shipping charge.

Thanks - is that after you place the order? I'm guessing they don't charge the CC until shipping

They seem to charge at order, but yes apparently if you contact them after placing the order they'll remove the shipping, they would refund the shipping value ($19.90) back onto the CC I guess.

Got the following email this morning. I double checked my credit card and they've still not charged it, there may have been a hold tho?

your bricklink designer program set is getting ready to ship! woohoo!
Since we’ll be charging the card you used to place your order soon, it’ll be a good time to make sure your card is still valid and you have money available in your account. we don’t want to have you wait any longer before you can get building.
Once we’ve packed your order and it’s on its way to you, we’ll send another email to let you know.

Had a slight panic attack as I haven’t received any emails, so I checked bricklink and it showed that I have no orders

But then I recall the checkout process being on Lego.com so I found the order on there, still in progress

Email received from Lego today.

In December, we sent an email to let you know your BrickLink Designer Program order was getting ready to ship. We wanted to clarify some info.

Your order was placed on or after August 3rd when we made additional Round 1 sets available to pre-order. We made a mistake by not reminding you the sets you ordered in this second wave of pre-ordering wouldn’t start shipping until as late as June 2022. We’re sorry for not mentioning this and apologize if we’ve caused any confusion.

Yeah, I got that too. Bit gutted about it to be honest.
