Not a bad deal, given that would give all the content we now can't get via other means (ie, Soho). I'd be keen other than it doesn't include MySky - I don't think we could go back to having to watch 'live' TV! Was there any mention of being able to add MySky (with an additional charge)?

I belive they gave many of their basic package customers free access to mysky, using their older boxes. So you could always ask them, and say you won't signup unless it is included.

And if your internet is with Vodafone you'd probably get musky for free anyway.

Personally I'd literally only be in it for the sport, rugby, league and F1 only specifically.

With Snap so luck that way. Will give them a call to ask though.

My wife was just saying tonight that she'd pay for Sky if we could get a discount for not taking any of the sports channels! Really, it's only 2-3 channels we want (primarily Rialto and Soho).

FYI, you can generally opt out of one of the "premium" services and add Mysky. For example just take sports and Mysky. You still need to pay for the HD ticket however.

Source - I did this last year :)

I think you have to be with sky only, not through vodafone. Found this out the hard way when i had two months worth of free content left from the 12 month deal and lost it when i switch over to vodafone. I could be wrong

They have been going around student areas here in Dunedin with the same offer door to door, but doing a 6 month minimum.

at the moment on face value $$$ yes.

within a short time it will not be sold anymore as the ipad 4 is probably going to take over as the budget model.

however if you really want to use it properly it's too slow. i have an ipad 2. haven't touched it for months as it is too laggy.

Ah okay. Do you think it will be able to handle the new Microsoft Office app? I also found out that the price was for a refurbished iPad 2 but this place is offering a $100 gift coupon with it.

lg gpad 8.3 @ jbhifi for $399 is not a bad price, it's better than a nexus7. Usual retail is a lot higher, some reviewers preferred the nexus7 but that was mainly because the gpad is a lot more expensive, but at that discount price it is cheaper AND way better spec'd. it's smaller than an ipad2 (8.3" vs 9.7" screen), but is way better spec'd and higher resolution screen 1920x1200 vs ipad2 1024x768

I guess it's what your expections are - I find my parents' iPad 2 (with iOS 7) is absolutely fine to use; sure, it's clearly slower than my own iPad Air, but, given the cost difference, I think they're still damn fine machines. If an iPad's what you're after, and you don't want to pay the frankly silly prices for the latest and greatest, it'll be a good buy (and certainly better than those cheap no-brand Android tablets for not much less). Best advice I reckon is try one out for yourself - if you're happy with it, go for it...

Depends who it has been refurbished by. The ipad 2 is a good device still and apple were still selling them new up until a few weeks ago. Although if you can get an ipad 4, as it will be supported for longer by apples ios. I suspect the ipad 2 won't get future ios updates.
