networkn: Ordered two.

one for data, and the other for backup hopefully :)

I only buy drives in pairs for this reason. I've lost too much data over the years including a really bad batch of seagates from about 3 or 4 years ago where every single drive (out of 4 including warranty drives) failed.

This is why when I archive to optical storage, 2 discs get written and these 2 discs are different brands.  Same theory would apply for HDDs.  And why I back up (sync off site) to 2 different providers.

maxeon:
Question: do you know if it comes with converter adapters in the box?
01:53 PM PDT Yaneiky(Amazon): Yes indeed. It comes with a converter adapter.

I'm 99% sure amazon support are wrong -- there is no converter adapter in the box.

Don't trust amazon support-- use the Q&A instead and speak to people who bought this product.

The reason for my mistrust is that I recently had an awful experience with amazon support.

I placed an order over 1 year ago and they did not have it in stock.   I'd been trying to cancel the order over a number of months but their system had some cancellation bug - even their support staff couldn't cancel it.  So,   I had been contacting support via chat and 4 or 5 different people guaranteed that this order would not ship . eg, this is one comment from them...

03:25 AM PDT Arvinder(Amazon): You will receive reply from them in 6 to 7 hours.
I am also forwarding this issue from here.
03:26 AM PDT Arvinder(Amazon): So, it will be resolve as soon as possible.
You don't need to worry.

After my order shipped I tried to complain. But, Amazon do not have a complaints process so you can only speak to the same people who stuffed you around in the first place.   This is the reply...

Hello,
I am sorry for the inconvenience you experienced in this case. I completely understand your disappointment. That's definitely not what we want our customers to experience, I'm glad you contacted us.

I've reviewed our previous chat with you, and I'm very sorry about the incorrect information you received. I've forwarded your concern to our appropriate department.

I really don't want to you see in more trouble and would like to make things simple for you.

So in that case I would request you to please contact us again by chat. So we can check and assist accordingly. Here's how:

1. Visit http://www.amazon.com/help
2. Click the "Contact Us" button in the Customer Service box on the right side of the page.
3. Sign in with your Amazon account e-mail address and password, or click the "Skip sign in" button. (Signing in will allow you to choose the order and item(s) you want to discuss with us.)
4. Click either the "Phone" or "Chat" tab, depending on which method you wish to use.

I realize that at this point of time asking you to contact us again would be time taking, however, we would really like to assist you better. Your patience and understanding is highly appreciated in this matter.

In addition to our large selection, one of the benefits we try very hard to offer our customers is convenience. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced in this case.

We look forward to seeing you again.

Best regards,
Gajraj

I guess i'll keep the order when it arrives and it will make a nice xmas gift for someone.

I assume this would work on 2degree's 4g once available? or is that a bad assumption?

All the 3.5" external seagate drives I have bought have come with 4 swappable heads for the wallwart. That is both local and one i bought from the states.
