I actually think that price isnt that unreasonable.

there are plenty of windows 8.1 tablets going for a bit over $120ish

60% off sales are not uncommon because retail prices are so damn high in NZ

That makes it about 50 bucks. If they didnt screw us around all the time with absurd prices so they can do these deep discounts then it would look unreasonable, but I am now conditioned to not buy things locally unless they are on a massive sale so it all looks normal to me.

The amount of self-entitlement here is enough to fill the space these tablets are going to occupy in landfill.

you can't seriously expect this price to be legit? Especially considering the sales people at JB had no idea of the pricing? They'd be the first to know.

They seem to be the only people selling them in New Zealand so they may have a bunch of stock that they just want rid of...

I think it is a pricing error, and wouldn't be surprised to see all affected people contacted. However some companies have been know to honour their mistakes.  The  error on the LG smart watch by one retailer is one example. However there are somethings that may indicate that it isn't an error. One is that if their staff had been made aware of the pricing error, as someone previously said they had been,  then why hasn't it been fixed. You would have thought that once they found out about it, they would want it fixing quicksmart.

Also their homepage is advertising 'Long Weekend Crazy Deals', as per below, and you could say that this is one of those deals.

This link shows the product on the JBHiFi site without any fanfare at $362.95 http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/computers/toshiba/encore-2-10-inch-tablet-sku-280911/

C
lick "Buy Online" and you're greeted with "Hot Price": $48.00

They must be selling truckloads!!! If they don't honour it, someone's going to be mighty busy back-pedalling on Tuesday.

Their main product link is the $48 one, I can't see it advertised for $362.95. From the homepage at http://shop.jbhifi.co.nz/  > click computers and tablets on the top bar > click tablets in the left column > and the first item listed is the $48 'On Sale' tablet.

Yep, I saw that, but if you start at http://www.jbhifi.co.nz  rather than http://shop.jbhifi.co.nz and drill down to tablets, you should see the product at $362.95 at my link above.

I've tried 3x browsers so I don't think it's cached here, unless it's coming from Spark's cache?

It is odd, because they seem to have two different websites, so maybe that is partly the problem. It is certainly a pretty terrible website though.

Spark Caching? This has been turned off :) (see: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=171971)

I ordered 2, I am really wondering if they would honor this as it appears to be a clear pricing mistake.
