5% for no CGA coverage? No way is that worth it.
I saw a sign on all the JVC tvs that there was no manufacturers onsite warranty service with them which I guess is telling about who they come from ;)
i always buy apple care on top, worth the money for hassle free overnight replacement

Lizard1977: So far, they haven't offered more than 5% off Apple products. Traditionally, Apple never discounts that heavily but I'm wondering if the discounts might get better towards the end? Unless they are able to return their stock back to Apple, in which case I suppose 5% is about as good as it gets.
5% is better than nothing, i'm after a new phone but it seems like dick smith has stopped answering their phones now..cant even call to ask if they have any stock
The online store has the current specials even though they are listed as "In-store only". There is a link that lets you check store stock levels based on post code. Most responses say 'Sold out'.
tried, when you click into the phone it comes with a 404 sorry we cant find that page
I went into a Melbourne store at lunch today. Most of the stock they have left is store brand cables etc. Most of the "good" stuff is gone.
Most things were between 20-50% off, but given the extreme markup on most of their stuff, it's still overpriced at 50% off. They are going to struggle to sell the millions of USB cables and phone cases they have unless they dramatically drop the pricing.

I dont think there are enough people that still have an S4. Even with each of them buying 1 case at DSE, they would still have some unsold.
Same for iphone 4 cables and old galaxy tablet cases. That is all they had, and for way more than they should have ever cost still. Im up at the glenfield mall again tomorrow so will have another look thru the store.
Also their door beeper thing always goes off when I go in or out. They never say a thing or even look up. I don't think they care.

HDMI cable now $30 instead of $60 maybe?
If the HDMI was originally $60 it would now be $24 not $30 ;-)
Yes, I can confirm that in Pukekohe there are red dots on items indicating they are 60% off the marked price. The red dots are not on all items. The prices are slowly getting down to around the prices other places sell for.
Cheers, Matt.
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
I saw a couple of UPS's in store today so asked what the discount was with the answer being 40%
$199 less 40% still makes it 55 cents more expensive than the cheapest seller on pricespy for the same UPS!

I still can't believe that HDMI cables cost so expensive for a digital cable. I've bought heaps of 1.4 cables from Chinese retailers for only a few dollars with free shipping. Gave some to friends and family, none of the cables have had any issues over the years.

Although they have to pay for NZ staff, NZ stores, NZ tax, GST, as well has have CGA obligations etc. So they are never going to be as cheap normally as cheap imported stuff.

Maybe they did not care if they sold any of these at $199, just kept them sitting around to make themselves look like a 'techXpert' shoppe.

Just before Xmas DSE were selling their standard DSE branded 1.5mtr hdmi cables for $0.50 each online! I got 10 just for the hell of it.

I think most geekzoners did. I even posted how each cable I bought came in its own bag with its own courier sticker on it which I thought was an absurd waste.
News Flash! Dick Smith have 1 metre long cat 6 network cables for $39.95!!!
