Its like what you said, the date changes to today's (in US time) date.
Pretty disappointing. Half tempted to cancel it now.
Well there's still no sign of my Kakapo 6 weeks after it supposedly shipped out from Denmark and I never got a tracking number. Lego are blaiming DHL for loosing it, but I suspect that Lego may have mislabeled the delivery address (my street number and street name were missing when I viewed the order on Lego's website, but they could see the full address correctly when I phoned them).
Anyway, after a few emails and phone calls they are now offering either a refund or to send out loose pieces to make up the set. It won't have a box or instruction booklet, but the instructions are available online: (959) LEGO Instructions | Bricklink | 910017 | Kakapo - YouTube
So I guess the waiting continues!

Changes every day.
Just got off the phone with Lego customer service after noticing a 'Contact Us' message on the order. Turns out the payment details had expired in their system as it had been so long. 40 minutes on the phone and the guy on the phone sorted it. No certainty on when it will actually arrive though sadly but it's a step in the right direction.

Same thing happened to my order, it took a month to finally get an update on what was happening.
Hey there
I wanted to send you a quick update here so that you at least know what's going on, on our end. I do not have a definitive answer right now regarding your actual order but I can tell you what we're doing.
First of all, we had a trend with the day that your order sent out where DHL experienced some trouble. We, and they, are aware of the affected orders and they have been transferred back to our warehouse to be re-labeled, and then sent out correctly.
Obviously, it's been a while though. There is another colleague of mine already working on your situation, and our higher support team has been working with DHL directly to get these orders fixed up. Therefore, I am sorry that I don't have a time frame on this but I can tell you that it's being worked on.
We will be getting back to you as soon as possible, and I'm personally reaching out to my other colleagues now who have been active on your order, to let them know that you've been asking in about a result.
I wish you the best week!

I had the same issue, mine arrived within 3-4 days of ringing them and correcting the payment method

Awesome news. Fingers crossed mine is the same then.
My card is finally charged, apparently the order is in warehouse, getting ready to ship.
Oblivian: What the hell
A thread update from here remind me to check the status of mine. I've emailed customer services twice previously and get order update emails have had nothing since the 4th of July
Yet when checking the online status...
Please Contact Customer Service
You need to call us to provide some more information before we can finish processing your order.
It's unlikely to be credit card details - it's still valid until next year
For clarity I did contact customer services after the last posts here and they advised that it was still on track, lo and behold 2 weeks later the card was charged and its processing... heck something must be happening somewhere.... super duper slowly

My understanding of the situation when talking to them, is that my card details had expired on their payment system and needed to be re-entered. It wasn't that my card had expired.
