Was fine. I emailed the person who sent the quote and they said to let gowifi know they would honour the code. I did and they did.

Could still pay by credit card by ringing them. It's on the way :-)

Same experience here, i actually jumped on the stock auto mail before they could notify me and ordered.

Skimming over times in the emails yesterday, my quote was received 10 mins after ordering (i followed up the invoice straight away just to make their end easier)

my set are on their way too.

As much as this is a promotion for Cambium, think GoWifi have really had the chance to show off how awesome they are compared to many other online based stores out there!

So here was their answer

We can support 40MHz on 2.4GHz (not enough channels for 80MHz); the reason we did not is, it is practically of very little use since the AP is required to scan the environment for any other AP on the extension channel and go to 40 only if it does not find anyone else there. While in a home there is a possibility that there may not be an AP around, in most enterprise deployments an AP configured for 40MHz on 2.4 would promptly see a neighbor there and fall back to 20MHz anyway.

good catch on the brochure/data-sheet note there: we should fix that to say 1.01Gbps (867+150), or allow support for 40MHz even if it works only in pristine environments. we'll do one or the other soon.

They have also said

good point. We need a little bit of software work for it though on the driver side, its not just the configuration CLI/GUI. We'll enable this in an upcoming release (likely one at the end of June)

so hopefully that does happen, as this point in time there are still a lot of devices still on the 2.4GHz band that could use the extra speed

totally, but not every enterprise environment needs 20MHz channels nor is every device going into an enterprise enviroment

Yes, 80MHz for 5GHz.

Sounds like we may be getting 40MHz for 2.4GHz too.

The wonders of RD, they will often take care of not having to leave a call card, even when im out.

Need to pop out to see someone this afternoon, willing to bet it will be as im going down the road the i pass them!

Worst case though, call card leaves it dropped at the dairy down in the township.

So got mine, set it up in around 5mins (config file stored in CM Cloud) and set up my SSID's / VLAN's.

Network Speed:
e400: Local network speed (WiFi AC): Peak 520.8Mbit (file copy from server)
xclaim: Local network speed (WiFi AC): Peak 290.2Mbit (file copy from server)

Coverage:
e400: Provides me with friendzoned WiFi at the supermarket (150m)
xclaim: Provides me with friendzoned WiFi down the road (50m)

I will be keeping the e400 in place of my xclaim for a wee bit for testing. The unit is bigger so I need to find a bigger box to sit it on in my network closet however at this stage performance seems better than my xclaim, coverage is notably better and configuration is like 100x more difficult due to the confusing nature of the "enterprise grade" cloud management site not designed for home users (where the xclaim is point and click).

I also noticed when I pulled out the xclaim the plastic has gone from white to a yellow colour which I will be bringing up with xclaim themselves. Then again, it has been online 24/7 for around a year now.

The unit is powered by a custom Linux distribution w/ iptables, and a full NAT suite built in making it ideal for those who are needing something for their "Big Red" unblocking service - this means, DNS redirection and firewall rules can be done on the AP itself on a separate network with packet acceleration (by the looks). I need to gain full root access to investigate further however it is looking extremely promising at this stage.

Also... To hell with the sticky label on the AP when I got it.

I would be interested in what speeds you get with iperf over UDP to compare the two.

I was rather impressed too. Also, GoWiFi didn't give me jellybeans this time (I guess since they used Jellybeans as packing material with one of my orders they felt I had a lifetime supply?).

Also, my network is getting almost too overkill. I have a local webpage of all my web managed devices: https://puu.sh/oCWKe/5548d99ca5.png

Will test performance via ipref when I get a spare moment. I am not sure if this is something I can just run in a VM container or if I should get a laptop connected via Gigabit ethernet to run it instead (have not used ipref in a while). Also, I found out my testing maxed out the Disk IO of my Microserver so it may be even better than the tests above.

I did have my xclaim on a fixed channel where the e400 I've left on auto. Nice the e400 supports band steering of which the xclaim doesn't (yet).
