Interesting to see if someone who purchased a camera, say at $99, discounted by $50, still get theirs delivered. That is only a 50% discount, which is quite common for old stock and shop seconds.

loceff13: Problem is they probably have liquidators that ok'd the nano because it was still within their acceptable price for it unlike other products (knife set for $6 shipped).

What do you mean liquidators? It is owned by the warehouse group now, so is  a brand they have phased out for their stores. I think it now only exists online for clearing old stock, refurbs and ex demo stuff. So you would expect substantial discounts off the RRP price anyway.

Had my order for a $79 camera at $35 cancelled :(   Bit rubbish really - I thought it would have been better for them to have honoured all the transactions as they can't have lost that much money considering there was only limited items and quantities on offer.  I don't the think the bad publicity would be worth the money they'll save by cancelling the orders. Especially when it is a clearance outlet of items they can't rid of in store anymore.

Although depends on the product. When I went to Norman Ross's closing down sale, they had products that were 90% off. Things like monster cables, keyboards etc. But you probably wouldn't expect a $1000 TV to be sold for $100 for example, and the B&B website was only discounting lower cost products by the larger percentage. Higher cost products were only discounted by 20% by the looks of it.

Thought I had bought a Canon A2400 IS that was listed for $99 (plus $6 P&P) for $55 once the $50 discount was applied. Unfortunately not as I received the same email.

The S2400 was released in Feb 2012 so it's over 18 months old and is now full retail for $128 at 100% Albany according to PriceSpy. I'd have said $99 was a reasonable discount for a new one (electronic stores run 20-25% discounts fairly regularly), but not one that had been on display for 18 months and was now being flogged in a closing down sale.

Anyone know someone at Fair Go?

Lots of stuff no one really wants, I guess that's why it's being sold. Nexus 4 is probably cheapest it's been though at $400.

Meh. Hasn't exactly got me clicking madly.... All a bit of a let down.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
