For those users of Global Mode looking for a replacement service after the 31st of August 2015, Dns4me is offering a discount coupon for a further 10% discount off it’s already very low subscription (NZ$26.43 for a 12 month subscription with Facebook like and coupon code).  We support 22 Netflix regions with more being added as Netflix expands.  We also support major media services throughout the world including those from China.  Dns4me allows you to use our services in 3 locations (Share with family and/or friends).  Easy to setup and with New Zealand and Australian based responsive support.

We have DNS servers located in 10 countries and Proxy servers in 28 Countries.  For those Geeks out there, we have a Host file generator that allows you to generate your own host file.  You can also use our DNS log service to help you create your own customs domains for those services that we don’t currently support.

We also support Dynamic DNS.  The promotion will run until the 1st of November 2015 so head over to www.dns4me.net and sign up for a 14 day free trial and experience the difference.  Use the coupon code ‘globalreplace’ to obtain a further 10% off our low subscription rates.

Dns4me is a locally grown service developed by Kiwi programmer Jason Kenah who is now living in Sydney.

We will be expanding the search to support Netflix Japan and of course dns4me will support Netflix Japan when it opens on the 2nd of September.

I turned off my globalmode last night and signed up for dns4me. Appears to be working nicely.

Is there a little icon/app that you can turn on and off the DNS (like a VPN or unblockUS where you can click connect or disconnect)?

I'd like that too

You could write a pretty simple powershell script to do it. One to change to Global Mode, one back to your ISP DNS, but not sure why you would bother.

Am I wrong or is netflix now working with no tweaks/global mode?

ISP Caching Magic.

I use getflix - no complaints and comes with "free" VPN.

Without any magic you will get the NZ catalogue. With an unblocking service you can receive the US/UK/whatever catalogue.

If I signed up for netflix US, I can get the UK catalogue by using nds4me?

Yep - single account works for any catalogue.

Your unblocking service lets you pick one at a time - i.e. set it to UK - watch UK, set to US, watch US.

Just to clarify. If I want Netflix US I should sign up for NZ Netflix then use a DNS service?

DNS4me didn't work for me - I couldn't get netflix or hulu to work with my Apple TV...

I have this interesting thing where my IP changes all the time, every few minutes or more often (Flip)... Before Global Mode (which works fine) I was with Unblock US which sometimes struggled to keep up... Dns4me seems to fail from the start - maybe Unotelly might be the next port of call...

Advice anyone?

Hi Dave, Flip uses CGNAT so your sharing an IP address with many other people, which causes problems especially if the IP flip has assigned is registered to another user, if you want to run some checks just submit a ticket in out ticketing system or check out our check page on http://dns4me/check

FYI we fully support Apple TV :)

Thanks
