Anyone having any luck with PBTech cyber monday sale?

Their website can't handle it, it's pretty pathetic really.... A huge NZ computer specialist store and they cant even manage to handle the increase traffic.... just move your servers to azure already... gez.

Yea it's pathetic...every year. They put some decent prices and the site crashes. Yes they must get a lot of hits but when you get through checkout, then the payment page and enter your credit card details, then it says processing and then crashes...that's pretty pathetic.

Anyway, will move on and pay a few bob more elsewhere.

Annnnnd it gets worse. Thought I'd try one last time and now prices are back to normal (or higher) in my cart. Crazy.

I think i have lost $80

Placed order got up to payment, check my balance on my credit card, enter in info press pay, get charged (my balance goes down on my internet banking), pbtech website errors out, no order info and it puts me back to my cart where it wants me to check out again.

Site is now pulling up the standard price for products with me. I guess the Varnish cache they're using is a little overloaded and is actually pulling from cache instead from the backend server(s).

So it replicates the same experience as shopping in store then...at least they are consistent I guess.

It's awesome huh? So far I've figured out they are definitely running a PHP/MySQL stack judging by the errors they are throwing up...

They are also hosted in Umbrellar Limited/Web Drive Limited as their A record IP address is 119.47.116.121. Apparently they've increase capacity 20 times over from last year? Apparently they are being hit with a lot of malicious traffic also which is crashing the site. I suggested to them over Facebook of signing up for Cloudflare at 6:30PM...

I continue to refresh my browser to see HTTP 500 or Error: Too many connections... How embarrassing and what a marketing disaster!

I dont think they really care much about marketing or their customers TBH.  their service is usually pretty rubbish, and its going down hill pretty fast.  Last few times I asked them to price match a competitor they basically said now (over $4), so I went to computer lounge (15min drive away) and they matched no problems.

Thanks for searching, but at the moment the search engine is down for maintenance.

I wouldn't even trust making an order an the moment. The search engine has been disabled on the website so I'm guessing the malicious traffic was using the search engine to bog the servers down. Layer 7 HTTP attack?
