Don't really recall them doing this before.

I bet it is underwhelming.

I am getting my daughter a new iphone shortly, asked her if she wants the iphone 6 or 7.... she wants the 6, because of the stupid home button and lack of headphone socket on the 7.   And, i agree.

First time ever the latest iphone is worse than the previous model. Just my opinion though, but I wonder how many others think the same way.

@surfisup1000 will you adopt me please?  I wanna new iPhone 7 too Daddy puhleeeeeeze!  laughing

Saw the email, too.  I don't recall ever seeing more than 10% off an Apple product, which is not enough to make me rush out the door on a particular day.

Those are not reasons to buy the 2 year old iPhone instead of the less than 3 month old one IMO. Unless you meant 6S?

Have you tried the home button in the shop, it's actually adjustable in settings.. It's weird at first but you would soon get used to it.

It comes with lightning headphones and an adapter to use 3.5mm headphones in the box.

The 7 is also water resistant, faster and has better cameras. The 7 will be more relevant for longer, recieve updates longer etc.

I too am interested to see what comes out of this sale.

There probably won't even be a sale. Probably a gift card included for their own stores. In which they take a huge cut of all sales anyway.

They have done it before. IIRC i got the equivalent off of a free RAM upgrade on a MacBook Air back when the second gen came out, around 2010.

Well last night I missed the headphone jack! I went to connect my phone to a Bose speaker that we have and realised I can't!

The home button does also annoy me, I very nearly sold my 7+ when it arrived rather than my 6S+ but the IP67 is a good feature especially when I have to make phone calls while lazing in the spa.

Its the traditional Black Friday sale.  Not the BS PBTech Black Friday but the real, day after Thanksgiving Black Friday that all the US retailers observe.

Dont be in the queue at Macys or Saks or Best Buys.  You'll get trampled - and then mugged in-store.

99% sure of that. . . I can imagine the upset that would ripple through the tightly controlled distribution chain if apple tried something like that.

I sometimes wonder why retailers bother selling iphones given the low margin and capacity for annoying CGA claims.

This is happening at exactly the same time as the discounts the AU Apple store was offering when I bought an iPad three years ago; that provided a $75 AU discount off an iPad Air 4G 64GB, plus a $75 AU iTunes gift card. Compared to what was on offer here (nada), that was a relatively sweet deal; especially since AU base prices were already significantly lower than here.

My point being, it could still be something worthwhile...

BS or not, PBTech did have 11% off all Apple gear, I got $250+ off the new 2016 Macbook Pro 13" (no touch bar). I suspect that is better than Apple are likely to do....

Apple has started selling refurbed iphones on the US store, and the market is big enough to tolerate it. In NZ they've started appearing via NZSale and 1-Day, so I believe Apple has withdrawn from their attempts at trying to keep a lid on global prices. There's no need to zush iphone sales, they have enough momentum, but other stuff like accessories, ipods, ipads (not pro) and the like I'd expect to see promoted. Good time of year to do it, and with the US economy suddenly sputtering to life an unexpected plus.

I just bought a Mac Book Pro. Will probably return it if a good offer comes up.
