Just to briefly hijack 8TB with extra USB ports is $172.40 = https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-External-Storage-Photography-STEL8000100/dp/B01HD6ZLQ6/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1530848199&sr=1-3&keywords=8tb&th=1

while 6TB version on same page is $109.99 - bit if a difference ($62.41).

I need an internal 8-10TB HDD, the larger the better ... outgrown the 6TB!

I ran out of connectors inside my PC case, and the external ones are cheaper anyway, so...

Depends on the model I presume (link to unnecessarily long but useful video follows) -

A few years ago now I took a few Seagates out of their enclosure, but it depended on where they were made, for Thailand ones the HDD was just a push fit onto its usb connector inside the enclosure but Chinese ones were soldered. Again few years ago.

I'd be tempted to buy an external one, try taking it apart but be prepared to fail and not be too disappointed anyway, usb3 speeds (if you have) are pretty decent anyway.

Wow, this is kind of a big deal. I think it applies to basically any order over $100, not just small computer part-sized things.

Just tried adding a saucepan that's been in my saved items forever. $55 USD for the pan and $22 USD for shipping.

But add a second saucepan - free. That shipping would normally be $62.03 NZD...
