The Google equivalent Nest Hub is available from NL at $79 today.

This is the updated one with the trial sleep sensing function.

Note: The Facebook equivalent is available at the same price Inc delivery as discussed here

I know nothing of these devices, but is it possible to link a cellphone to them and to be able to make and receive phone calls using the Nest Hub?

Although I work at home I usually need to put in earphones when making or receiving cell calls so my hands are free to write notes.  if the Nest hub can save me the chore of always putting earplugs in then this would be a good buy for my purposes.

Using it like a Bluetooth car speaker? I think not at all although I have not tried. Using Duo and phone, yes.

In other markets Nest actually has free calling and ability to associate with carrier phone accounts. I don't know if this part is available in NZ or not sorry.

Nope, it’s not possible to make and receive calls. Yep, you can connect devices by BT, but that’s for audio only, and really only makes sense if you can’t cast using the wifi network. (Possibly more useful if you’re wanting to connect headphones, say.)

Great deal at this price - much better value than the much more limited Lenovo Smart clock radio (the Hub works brilliantly as a clock radio; the Hub Max is more suited for larger spaces, especially if audio quality is more important).
