How did Norris avoid a penalty for the start!? Unlike the F1TV commentators I thought he had stopped before the lights changed but I think he was then outside his start box. Very lucky there. But then was a bit unlucky with the pit stops having to stay out to avoid sitting double stacked.

From the Stewards:

The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video and determined that the video appeared to show that Car 4 moved before the start signal was given. However, the FIA approved and supplied transponder fitted on the car did not indicate a jump start.

Article 48.1 a) of the Formula One Sporting Regulations states clearly that the judgment of whether or not there was a jump start is to be made in accordance with the transponder, which did not show a jump start. In the  circumstances, we took no further action.

Basically a 'computer said no' situation. Saw comments elsewhere this has happened a few times, the transponder has (potentially not) picked up on something not visible in the video recordings which pushes towards declaring it was a legit start.

Bearman deservedly driver of the day (but a mile). Ferrari would have been happy if he just brought he car home in one piece. Points an absolute bonus. Massive kudos to him. Hulk and Magnusson should be sweating and probably racing each other to retain their seat with Bearman getting one of them!

Lawson and Bearman clearly show that youth doesnt matter. Relative inexperience doesnt matter. They are fast, tick. They know the F1 cars inside out as they are reserve drivers, tick. Other drivers in F1 have clearly shown what they have, or haven't, so teams might be better off trialing a Lawson or a Bearman for 6 races, then roll them if need be. Stay another 6 races, roll them if need be. The pick of F2 is a very good bar it seems. Not likely to get a DeVries or Sargeant  that often. But you will get a Bearman or Lawson much more often. There are many drivers who are good but not great. Better than good but not great. I feel the teams will realise that they are sitting on gold mines but they persevere with the silver to their detriment.

It can only be that he wasn't moving at the start, and was on the start line still. Computer or not they have video.

Was reading that the rules reference the transponder now so that’s technically how it has to be assessed.

Danny Ric didn't have a good race did he? way down the field and beaten by his team mate.

It was cool to see Bearman do well.

How long will Aston Martin put up with Lance Stroll? He's gotta go, even his dad must be thinking this is starting to get embarrassing.

Not sure alpine have any more people to throw under the bus.

Redbull sound like they have imploded big time.

But continue winning without trying. Max was playing video games on live stream until 4am the morning of the race

Despite Ricciardo having a ~40 sec delay in the pits and spinning later Tsunoda was ahead by 1 place. I'd like to know what he meant when he said something was setup wrong but at least they know what it was. The #3 car has more than just the driver responsible for performance.

I'll never forget 2006 Schumacher crashing right in front of us on the start finish straight at Melbourne GP.

He came out of the corner and smashed into the wall, then ended up right next to the pits, jumped out, over the fence and he was back in the pits. All happened right in front of us. Awesome.

When i got the tickets i figured being on the Start-finish line would be boring from race point of view, but really wanted to watch the pitstops and the pre-start circus.

Alex Albon's chassis beyond (at track) repair, so they are withdrawing Logan and giving his chassis to Alex... (Source: https://twitter.com/WilliamsRacing/status/1771107098065002778) they had no spare. Ouch (and poor Logan... I haven't always said the nicest things about Logan but this wasn't his fault).

Yes a pity but its a team sport, Logan isnt very good, Im surprised he is still in the car, probably sponsor/USA reasons for that
