TeaLeaf:

Yep, I think flooding the team with players who can do that consistently, along with 2 players who can go 15-20 overs, really gets us into the 200+ scores, which will be par for the world cup.

Plus two to bat 15 to 20 overs? Thats totally unrealistic.

You'd need to decide of you want a team to set a target from ball 1, a BMC style where you give three big hitters free reign, or if you want an opener partnership to set a foundation. The former, you win if two of the three get a quick fire 50, otherwise you lose. The foundation method, you set a foundation, and allow the big hitters to target teir 2 bowlers, less risk needed, focus on ground fours not aerial. Less risk but still a high RR. You'll get free runs as the bowlers get frustrated.

New Zealands biggest T20 win over Australia. A very nice job by a well selected and run side.

Pitch is too easy to bat on. Even if the Blackcaps score 220-230 it will be an easy run chase for Aus.

Possibly, but Guptils 6s were mostly over 80m, good on any ground

Neesham is batting pretty sweetly as well

I guess maybe he's played cricket after all. Williamson, Neesham, Santner and Bolt all excellent. It's almost like experience is valuable.

If Neesham didn’t get Sams and Stoinis out this game would have gone to Aus. I’m quite surprise the Blackcaps didn’t bowl Neesham in the middle overs and used him in the final over.

Overall it was a team performance by every member of the team. The only issue I have now is whether Jamieson might not be cut out for T20. Seems to leak too many runs in the last game and today’s game. Hopefully when Ferguson comes back they swap him out.

I think if Siefert continues to get single digits in this series then either bring Finn Allen or bring in Munro.

Tim Southee to keep then?

I was watching delayed coverage onions tv then app crashed to live and so I exited app and now the 2nd t20 isn't listed anywhere to watch !!! Clicking on coverage for 2nd game just gives me the option to watch some old game.

I've missed the last 30 minutes.

Very annoying. Cli

@Handle9

Devon Conway and Glenn Philips can keep as well. They do it for some of the domestic games. I would preferably want Glenn Philips to keep as I don’t want to mess with Conway form.

Neither of them have kept for some time, they are both specialist batsmen. Chasing shiny things doesn't work well in many pursuits, especially selecting cricket teams.

Philips hasn’t keep in awhile but Conway was keeping wicket for half of the Super Smash games this season. If Siefert continues to score single digits this T20 series then I suggest the Blackcaps either pick one of these two or someone else who has been performing in domestic.

Fortunately the selectors will persevere with players they see as long term players and not chase "form"

So I’m guessing this will be a repeat of the 2019 World Cup campaign for the Blackcaps. If you continue to pick players who have been out of form then you might as well wave bye to winning a World Cup. You should only be selecting those who have been in form, know how to play in certain conditions and be able to face top ranking bowlers at an international level.
