For all of you calling to put Finn Allen in, he won't be facing the Otago bowling attack.

He be facing good bowlers, this year in games against teams with good attacks he has been average.

Ok, Im not familiar with him, but facing an Australia B team, at home, was a good intro. Rather that than a full AUS side at the MCG. if he didn't work out over 5 T20's, fine. The end game is the T20 WC

NZ will play India in the World Champs

5th T20 today at midday, forecast is Morning showers, then fine spells, but further showers possible as strong northwesterlies change southerly towards evening.

Toss wise, and while other series are played at various venues unlike this one, maybe we should revise the toss? A 5 game series, who wins the toss, chooses, next game the other, and so on. 5th game, the standard toss. That would allow a bit more sharing the inevitable high toss advantage.

Spinner day today one would assume. Or actually its the batters day, who can bat the smartest, not who can go after the big innings.

I’m surprised they dropped Jamieson. I think he would have been handy with the bat today. I would have preferred they drop Siefert and move Conway to opening/wicketkeeping and add Chapman to provide us with a 3 spin attack or 4 spin attack if you add Philips.

Chapman has just got the wicket of Maxwell. The Blackcaps should have let Chapman bowled in the 3rd T20 when Santner was out.

Sloppy fielding. AUS batting solidly. But we now have 3 wickets at halfway, AUS slightly ahead, given their batting line-up thats left

Yep, Sieferts batting form is worth gambling on dropping him for Chapman

The bowling has been much better so far today. Having a 4 spin attack (Santner, Sodhi, Chapman and Philips) has allowed us to leak less runs compared to the previous 2 T20’s

What a pity that the lockdown meant 3 games had to be played on the worst wicket in NZ that is used by the national team and either the worst or 2nd worst ground/stadium used by the national team.

AUS falls apart at the end, probably the wicket/bowling. See how we do, our batting is less reliable than theirs. 142 does seem a bit light

Lets hope we middle the ball if its a bit tough, rather than be silly again

First over and both Conway and Guptill look solid. It was nice to see that they were both rotating the strike. We just need 1 and 2’s to win. Do not take risks.

Yep, its helpful that on ball 1, scoreboard pressure is low. 18 balls and just 3 boundaries still has us at 8+ after 3 overs. Pressure decreases, kiwis roam free

I’m so glad they finally let Conway open the innings. At no4 I feel like he is wasted in that position.

Possible if they don’t lose a wicket soon.

😅 big ol zero for Kane'o.
Rest of the team stepped up though so allgood. Glenn 'loves a boundary' Phillips.

Fails happen, you wont expect him to fail month after month after month. But in any game if three can contribute well, (doesn't have to be record breaking, just good to well) and any others pop in a quick 10, that's enough. Then a fail is insured.

Everyone everywhere has been bagging Guppy to be replaced, I'll eat humble pie on that one. Not because we won today and the series, but because he's proven us wrong. As someone said today you can be out of form but not out of skill, or summit like that. So yeah, fair enough. Chew chew
