Batman: Which car does Spa suit?
Power. Longest track on the circuit, I assume the highest average speed. Merc 1-2, nothing more to see here!
Batman: Unless it rains ...
It never rains at Spa......................well, it might not be in the pits, but pouring at another part of the track :-)
Batman: Re Hamilton ... I did not see that coming!

...three very interesting and very different reactions.
EDIT: This quote sums up the move perfectly in my view.
If he misses out on the title by the three points he conceded, it will be a far greater triumph than if he had held on to his place and won it by the same margin.
In other news- Kubica has impressed in testing in a current spec Renault.
(Came within a tenth or so of Palmer's qualifying time in his first session in the car!)
He will be an exciting prospect for next year. (assuming Palmer holds onto his seat for the remainder of the season...)

Great news. Is Kubica is medically fully ok now? He can test, I assume has is a race weekend fit? If so, it would make sense to use up races this year to avoid wasting early races next year as he gets used to the cars.
Halo next year too.
Kvyat out I'd say
Yeah he was pretty messed up. I never expected to see him back at this level again. Very impressive times for a first hit out in new equipment.
Sad when the excitement comes from the rain. I mean rain is always cool, but we're still in a situation where one team has it over the rest of the field at the moment. Last race aside that was.
Still, much better this year than previous years.
Can't wait to see that gstring halo device in action next year. A huge thong right in front of the drivers field of vision has got to be good right.

Rain is good, it allows the cars to show their worth, AND the drivers. BUT, when Im am leading you by 5 seconds cos I am the man, and I just passed the pit lane entry as I got a radio call about the rain, and you dive in, thats a lottery and no good. IIRC MOTOGP has a dry race wet race declaration. I think if it rains in a dry race, they red flag, everyone goes to the pits, adds wet tyres and they restart, thats pretty fair. Equal opportunity, not in the lap of the gods, literally

It seems like it.
thedrive.com:
Kubica completed 142 laps of the Hungaroring between the morning and afternoon test sessions, cheered on by an army of fans from the main grandstand. Half way through the day, Kubica met the requirements for an FIA Super Licence, passing the 300-kilometer mark on his 69th lap.
...this test's first priority was probably gauging whether or not Kubica could overcome his injuries and withstand long runs in a current Formula One car. Not only has he proven himself capable of enduring a full race weekend (condensed to one day, no less,) but he has also shown the ability to match Jolyon Palmer from right out of the gate.
Well, that was an engrossing race with minimal overtaking!
(obviously not what F1 wants/needs to improve interest in the general public, but still intriguing for diehard fans ;-) )
I was certain that Vettel was going to destroy Hamilton on the Kemmel straight after the restart...
If you just read Hamilton saying Ferrari were the faster car. ??? Who broke the lap record umpteen times in qualifying and they are not the faster car eh. Tui ad here. Maybe he referred to the fact that he couldn't pull away from Ferrari, but I have no doubt the Merc engine has some magical "quali mode". Bang it in during qualifying, destroy everybody, pull ahead during the race. Except this race couldn't pull away, but that does not mean, in IMO, that Ferrari is faster. I am also sure you can use "quali mode" to prevent being overtaken.
Couple more observations
1. Every time max DNF when he is way ahead, Danni Ric gets on the podium!
2. Perez likes to crash
3. Apparently when Vettel appeared close to Hamilton at the SC restart, it was because Hamilton was in the wrong engine mode. If he was in the right mode, no contest even on colder harder tyres from the way I know Merc can make any tyre work (driver input needed obviously).
4. Max will probably want to leave RB but there's nowhere to go, unless Bothas is dropped.
5. Alonso has nowhere to go other than RB or retirement home.
Now we know the Ferraris don't work in the wet at all, while Merc and RB are just like usual in the wet.
