Mercedes. Nuff said. End of story.

Maybe, but its closed up a lot. But if that was the case, the race betwen Hamilton and Bottas will be a good watch, and the others. Thats how Ive watched the last two years, Merc race and the other race.
While I'm a Mercedes fan, I'm not a huge fan of Hamilton. What he managed to achieve last year through was amazing though - after being clearly beaten on numerous occasions and throwing his temper tantrums he ended up having to show is what a skilled driver he was, and ended up doing that.
Botas will be interesting to watch, last year Mecedes still had the best car but it's a whole new year with new cars coming online and that means anything can happen.
McLaren. Nuff said. End of story.

Bottas will be good to watch as we have little idea how good any drivers are when they cannot race in even cars. Ferrari looked great in testinh and Kimis top lap was like it was on rails. Max, if RBR can get a bit closer, new pairings. Hopefully overtaking wont be that much harder with more mechanical grip, even though there is more aero as well. Mpore scope to vary the aero as well this year, last year many ran a high downforce trend
I expect Bottas can match Hamilton, and that will be fun, on and off the track. One is pressured ny his own expectations and arrogance, the other has an open licence.

Berfore Mercedes came along I used to be a McLaren fan (and occasionally a Williams fan when McLaren were doing really poorly). It's a team I feel sorry for as over the years they've had some amazing cars and drivers but have never been able to pull things together over the past 20 years or so and have the success they really deserved.
Kimi and Montoya should have dominated entirely when they were together ~10 years ago if their car didn't keep breaking down.

Exactly. I think this will be fascinating both on and off track. With Botas new to Mercedes this year is Hamilton's to lose.
As long as McLaren can fix their Honda engine issue that have plagued the team already preseason.
Fernando Alonso is a star driver still, He can drive and get the team back to where it should be and following in the greats steps and the reason why he setup the team.
One person I will put money on as an up and coming drive and yes it's only his first year but thats Lance Stroll, Saw him race in TRS once he masters this car watchout

I've heard of him prior to this, just. To make that step to F1, there must be a lot of promise there

We will see how this pans out. I know a lot of drivers who crashed a lot of cars in their early years of racing.
He managed to win F3 in 2016, TRS in 2015 & F4 in 2014 so he must know how to control a open-wheeler ;)

Not gonna happen. It's a pile of junk by all accounts, shaking itself to bits.
McLaren would do well to get out now and quick, moving to Ferrari or Mercedes asap.

50/50 gamble on that..
Get out and have to be a "customer" and buy engines at retail or carry on with the current and try and fix the issues, this option seems the worse and most destructive option but money talks

A McLaren running Ferrari engines.....not a chance....it would be a cold day...well, you know the rest.
McLaren are considering Mercedes engines though
