Is there such a thing with the Steynes as non kick able range? :)

I really felt for Mils today, but it is nice to see that the Coaches won't let sentiment cloud their judgement. We have pretty amazing depth, I just hope that our benched players are getting enough practice so they can come on and still work as a team.

Anyways, on with the contest.

Wow the AB's were on the whole very good tonight. DC had a bit of a mixed game, but SBW seems to be getting better each game.

Refs and the French! Argh! There was no way that second French try should have been allowed, the AB's weren't even ready!

Ritchie McCaw, what a guy, what a player, what a NZ'er!

It was excellent. I was gonna say that Israel Dagg and SBW were great but so were many. And to play a Tier 1 nation who did not construct a try was a strong defence. 37-17 flattered the French, so plenty of psychological points gained.

good result for the ABs obviously, but when will the NZ crowd ever learn to actually enjoy the game?

Having gone to the Ireland vs Australia game and then this one,the difference was night and day. Irish and Ozzie fans on the way to the game were singing, laughing, dancing, enjoying good natured banter.

Walking with AB fans to last night's game was like we were going to a funeral.

I thought it was a good game (and the Warriors afterward better).

Dan Carter played well I thought, just the one mis-fired pass and one missed kick. He is lethal when he runs - people forget how fast and elusive he can be. It was also good to seee a couple of obviously planned and practiced moves come off as well.

I hope Dagg's injury isn't too bad and he is ready for the QFs, along with Thompson - he had a good game.

I hope they play the nucleus of this team next weekend vs Canada to get their combinations down pat.

Fully agree, i went to the Ire vs Aus game, atmosphere was amazing.  I wasnt at last nights game but drove the fan trail from Eden park to town, then watched the game at the fan zone.

Along the fan trail the only ones who looked happy and excited were the French fans.

It was a dead boring crowd, all sitting down, hardly any one seemed excited at all. Cmon kiwis get into, stand up, yell and scream, get into the game.

I only watched it on Maori TV broadcast (set up the projector so it was a little more exciting) but from what I could hear it sounded like the crowd was going mad!

Anyone who was in the stadium who can confirm?  I though it was a bit sad that half the crowd left before Richie's capping...

Most people wouldn't have been aware it was going to happen (I wasn't)

And secondly the warriors game was about to start so you needed to leave straight away to get a good spot in a bar to watch it.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I was on my feet at home, screaming for the AB's!

Having been at the Ireland v Aussie game and the All blacks v France. I can confirm that the Irish crowd were definitely louder and had the temporary stands shaking more.
Also I think they announced pretty much straight at the end of the game that there would be something for Richie. But in saying that I find it odd that at most of the games I have been to the people have started leaving with ~5min to go, Ireland V Aussie was the exception.

One of the most moving moments in Rugby I recall was John Smits 100th Cap. He was on the field with his kids, you'd be a harder man than I not to shed a tear in that circumstances. I felt RM's award lacked a little in emotion, though he looked a couple of times like he was a little overwhelmed.

Poor Jock looked pretty frail.

Graham Henry will get his 100th cap for NZ shortly, very impressive. I really think he has overall done a great job with the AB's. It's hard to see Dean having done better than 85% he certainly hasn't done as well with Australia.

Not sure who the next coach will be, but I have a feeling Kirwan may be an assistant Coach.
