Pity that Maori TV didn't have more live stuff on especially when there's 3 games on in a days. say the evening game would be nice but I guess Sky has it all tied up.

I was dissapointed by the Wales/Namibia game, I felt the Welsh really stuck it to them at the end, it wasn't really sporting to keep pushing that way, especially since injuries happen when people were tired.. I really felt for Namibia, a few of their guys collaspsed weeping with exhaustion at the end. The captain gave an awesome speech though, they were great!

I was at the Wales/Namibia game and most of the Namibians were buggered by half-time. That showed in the second half when the Welsh just stomped all over them. It just highlights the problem of making the tier 2/3 teams play most of their games with minimal rest when they are not physically conditioned to do that.

I hope the IRB is taking notice because it is not doing the image or growth of the game into other countries any good if they continue this practice. The solution is to either reduce the number of teams to 16 and have the tier 3 nations play an extended qualification tournament or, if they want to keep 20 teams, they have to schedule the tier 1 v tier 3 match mid-week as all of the tier 1 nations can handle that physically while playing other matches in the weekends either side of it. This will allow a longer rests period before and/or after for the tier 3 team while not extending the pool games schedule.

Japan vs Canada I felt sorry there wasn't a clear winner. I was rooting for both teams, but Japan just a little more.

I felt really annoyed at the commentator for the USA game, he was so clearly in favour of Italy winning, I thought the USA were amazing. The scoreline didn't really do them justice.

Am I right in saying that the AB's and Warriors play the same day? What time are the Warriors playing?

Hi There!

Is there an easy explanation about what constitutes offside? I am always completely confused about it, I find it hard to know how it's occurred even when I see it happening :)

Also Ruck/Maul?

yes.

Richie McCaw = never offside

everyone else may or may not be offside depending on how much the refereee cares that day.

ruck is the ball is on the ground and 2 or more players from opposing teams contesting for the ball above it.
Maul is the same situation, but when the ball is off the ground.

The injury stoppage situation is ghastly (Stoppages should always occur unless minor), and please god let Wayne Barnes retire! (Worst ref ever regardless of the last RWC end result for NZ)

Question for you folk who have been to games:

I went to the Italy USA game last night in Nelson and was surprised that despite the fact that its being live broadcast on SKY there was no local commentary. So sitting watching was all we could do, plus a bit of yelling and banter and mayhem, but we didn't get the sky commentary over the park PA.
Thought that was a bit poor really. But being at the game was great. Great atmosphere and multilateral support for both teams.

So for those of you who've been to games outside the main centers... did you have commentary?

Is there a legal place to buy tickets which are being sold by the original ticket holder?

They never have commentary over the PA at a rugby game or any type of sport for that matter.
They will tell who scored a try or kicked a penalty though.

Edit:  Just thought about it and they do it for horse racing.

I have never been to a live game where there is commentary. How annoying would that be (for the players too)?

There is nothing stopping you from taking a transistor radio in and tuning in to the radio commentary though. Some grounds (not in NZ) have a 'Sports Ear' device that you buy/hire(?) and can listen to commentaries on that.

Here's hoping the the Rugby Union don't expect the NZ tax payer to front up with the shortfall.
