Well Ferrari cant buy a trick. Talk about the wrong run of the green. They race at Sepang, Kimi almost on pole then didnt start. Vettel started last and ran 4th. Was looking like 3rd until Danny Ricc was a bit naughty defending.  Now they are at Suzuka, Merc power blowing everyone away, and Vettel is 2 on the grid which will only be 3rd in the race.

Hope the temp rockets up!

I hear that Merc is on the edge of engines, again. I guess they will throw a race and get free engines again.

Might as well give Hamilton the title now. Unless he gets locked up in his hotel room 4 races in a row the title is all his. Singapore was just too make Ferrari feel better (not to lose by too close a margin)

Yeah, it's well over. Pity the red devils cant finish a race, or start a race. Talk about run of the green gone awol

Good to see Palmer out. But I doubt Sainz will match the Hulk either.

Hopefully RBR will give some entertainment as the showdown between Merc and Ferrari never got off the ground.

I expect this will be Hamilton's greatest season, I've driven so well, especially the later races when I took it to Ferrari !

You would expect he is better than Stroll, and Stroll is competitive. Far far more experienced too. Has won LeMans, and I gather he is about to win the series he is racing is at the moment.

I liked Evans too, but he was poor on quali, but is fast

I was very surprised to see Hartleys name pop up again, really out of the blue. It seemed like he stuffed his chance 3-4 years ago when he was next in line at Red Bull and then Riccardo and Kyvat jump the queue. Good luck to him but it seems that in F1 is isn't how good you are it is who you know and how much money they have.

Reading the lengths Stroll's daddy has gone to get him into F1 seem extraordinary. They have bought a 2012 (i think) Williams F1 car and get it flown around the world, along with the pit crew, so he can test at some tracks and get some seat time. Really goes go show what a joke the also rans are on the grid. Certainly the top 3 or 4 in the championship are the best there is but the rest, who knows?

That to a point to get in, but once you're in, raw speed trumps who you know.

Confirmed, Hartley will start in Austin, alongside Kvyat, with a good chance he might release Kvyat for the rest if the season. That gives him time to get up to speed and compare to the Russian. I feel if he can match Kvyat first up, that will be improved on a lot over a few more races.

FP1 done, haven't watched it, BH is 14th, but the other Toro Rosso is Sean Gelael, who I dont rate, but a second faster for Hartley. Yes, we have no idea of the schedule they ran. Keen to see how he matches with Kvyat. Kvyat has some pace. Have to wait for the last 20 minutes of FP3, but I hope he matches Kvyat, as his last minute seat is a huge handicap.

Commentators keep pointing out how Hartley's neck is getting wrung by physics.

Yep. Kimis neck is the same width as his head! Tough ask, but while it appears there are no expectations, whatever he does will improve a lot every race. I assume he will finish Kvyats season to them assess his progress. he may earn a one year contract, which is basically my Kiwi bias kicking in!

Wow Vettel was towing Kimi to the chequered flag!

Classic Kimi - "what's your comments on the Vestappen overtake incident where he then got a penalty"

A: I don't know why he got a penalty.

Have they indicated why Vettel was so slow today?  Apart from the start, he really struggled and at the end he was holding kimi up; The end might have been fuel related, but it couldn't have been tyres was it?
