3rd race in a row iirc, first to the first corner = first at the last corner.
new design they say. more overtaking they say ...
For those who watched it on Spark Sport - how long after the race did they provide live coverage for? It was great to see Ted's notebook back again on the Sky Sports F1 feed so I'm just curious if that was shown.
Jaxson: Yawn 😴
Tried Spark Sport and it worked ok, but the subject matter is just really lacking these days.
A big yawn. Good passing though, (under team orders). No doubt there will be circuits that allow close racing, but what I am seeing now, is that things have changed. Mercedes is not the hp powerhouse it once was. Ferrari has improved. RBR has improved. If I said this last year we would be drooling for the races, but in fact Merc is comfortably ahead of Ferrari, Ferrari is comfortably ahead of RBR. We now have an official processional format IMO

I blame the new regs. When this happens, there will always be a team that did that better, then 2nd better then 3rd better. Merc does bends better, Ferrari does straights better, bit they are still a clear 1 and 2. Had regs not changed, Ferrarii would be neck in neck with Mercedes as the last two seasons closed that up. RBR would be close with the better Honda powerplant. But its been reset so we go back to standard gaps

They ended the Feed just before the Notebook. arrrgh!. They have told me they will stand it up OD, but no sign of it yet. I have watched on Youtube.
I thought Spark Sport was taking the entire Sky sports f1 feed? Bit dumb if its not all of it.

It was great to have it back.. It's a shame Ted is only going to appear at 13 of the races this season.

No sign of it at 10am on Monday, so I doubt if we'll ever see it on Spark Sport.
The first F3 race this weekend, including two Kiwis, Liam Lawson and Marcus Armstrong
How might they rate Justy? You will have seen them here? @ResponseMediaNZ

These 2 have had a massive year in TRS with Liam taking it out in the end. Its hard to rate either of them in F3 my money is on close racing between both of them.
But being a betting man Laim will go far in all motorsport (maybe F1 drive)
PS: Thanks for the email @tdgeek
I've really only been following it this season - watched the Netflix doco before the season to have a bit of a catch up...
So far has been pretty boring IMO. Qualifying has been more exciting than the actual racing. Feel very sorry for Leclerc - really like him and feel Ferrari is giving him the short end of the stick. Even after he crashed in qualifying in Azerbaijan, there was a point where he was effectively leading the race. Why wouldn't they bring him in and put the softs on, and just send it - he had no chance of a top 3 or 4 finish as it was, but they wouldn't do it because they were worried about the tyres lasting the distance. Come on - roll the dice and give him a chance. They should look away from their computer screens for a while.
That Netflix doco was fantastic. I've been an F1 fan for a long time but hadn't watched the doco until recently. I was really impressed at the access they had to the drivers and team principals. No love lost between Cyril and Christian!
That and the All Blacks ESPN doco were pretty good.
F1 is struggling to present something worth people paying for and watching at the moment. The lack of competition is just killing the vibe massively.
It does best where there's a high stakes battle on, but this year (like the 5 or so before it) it's one team clearly out in front.
The exciting racing is a few steps down from the top, and I guess that's what makes that documentary good.
Ironically it's good because it doesn't include Ferrari and Mercedes, and if it had included/been based around the top teams it would have been more boring too, like the sport is at the moment.
I used to find the Schummy years boring, I'd often nod off at 1am. Last 5 years, Merc hasn't been of much interest. I really dont know now if Ferrari is actually there this year after all. For me its Bottas vs Lewis, watching LeClerc vs Vettel, see if Max can regularly find anyone to fight with. But the two Kiwi boys are there in F3 this race weekend

Shows potential, but must try harder
