Oh man, another edge to gully, Nichols just gets fingers to it but to be fair, short.

They should just have the highlights of the day as all the edges fall short or going through slips. NZs number one way of getting wickets, just not going to hand, thats 10 chances gone. Im sure the depth of the slips will be brought up in tonights match review by the BCs.

Dochart: Munro is going well in the BBL game right now. I hope he scores another 100 today.

Hopefully wickets start falling in the test match. NZ have only got 2 wickets so far. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day for NZ.

Which platform are you with to watch the BBL?

Im currently with Spark, but was with Kayo for a while. Im just not sure if they show the NZ Test matches and I think they lost all the EPL games.

Dochart:

Wagner should have reviewed. That was lbw. How did the umpire get the call wrong. Would have been 2 wickets down now.

I think they showed the ball tracking? Missing but not by much. If it hit though, it makes up for Will Young being lbw and the umpire got that wrong

Dochart: I really thought this test match was going to be one sided but Bangladesh are putting an effort to score big runs this innings.

Same to the point of not really worth a watch. Im enjoying the Ashes and while thats a whitewash ENG is a top teir team just out of form and confidence. Bangers have every disadvantage possible this series yet they are resolute. Im not buying into the bowling friendly for them now batting friendly. NZ has a far superior lineup for both, and its swinging.

It was mentioned that Ross often fields deep. Ashes had a good few going between them too. End of the day they didnt catch them, so thats where the fault lies.

There was also reason to question the missing star of NZ’s most recent test, Ajaz Patel.

The left-arm spinner became just the third bowler in test cricket history to take all 10 wickets in an innings in the second test defeat to India in Mumbai last month.

He wasn’t wanted for the two home tests against Bangladesh however as the selectors went with a formula that has brought huge recent rewards in New Zealand – four specialist quick bowlers of various styles and skills, with the assistance of an all-rounder who bowls spin.

On a brown pitch baked by a searing sun since the outset of the test, Rachin Ravindra bowled nine overs of his left-arm turners without reward after Bangladesh captured five wickets with spin.

As the wicket wears over the next three days, spin could possibly prove pivotal on day five.

What they meant is Ross likes to be deeper than most 1st slips in comparison to the keeper. I only remember the 1 going to him though, which is the one Baz said, and I agree, Blundell should have gone for. Given Blundell was catching them near the turf often I think he is just getting use to the difference in bounce with the 4 bowlers and subsequently the slips were a little short.

But more interestingly, as mentioned just before, 11cm MORE bounce this year than last on this pitch, that is insane difference. So perhaps that was giving them a bit of indifference as well, as where to set the slip line.

Hopefully it got discussed and catches go to the bread basket or chest, which would expect on a tennis ball bounce pitch.

AND the Bangers players are shorter than average, which compounds that 11cm. Also, its damper under the pitch, more so than usual maybe that adds a spring and a tad bouncier?

I’m quite surprise that Wagner is the only one who can get wickets on this pitch. I thought Jamieson being so tall would have done just as well as Wagner.

no ball edge. his heel was behind the line when the toes touch the ground. salmon plum lbw yesterday not given by the same umpire yesterday, can see why hes pissed.

in saying that, wagner had already bowled an lbw this morning so, whilst it was not a no ball, it shouldnt have been that close after one already this morning.

Id keep Wagner bowling if I was Tom, Id also have kept Jamo going with so many close calls and 4 maidens in a row.

Bangers could have been out 2 times over in any other test rofl, gotta take ya luck when you can get it though.

Jamo wasnt as good yesterday as this morning. He really looked amazing hooping a 75 over old ball both ways. He was only trying in swing, which goes across the lefty yesterday.

But I do agree, I said it yesterday, when they get Wagner bowling short, they shouldnt given the batsmen respite and have Jamo at the other end doing the same, plus he is 10kph quicker.

Finally, the first bouncer off a length from KJ, and it doesnt miss, hes taken so many wickets with it. I also liked he followed it up with verbal after it hit the batsman. Intent. But agree with Baz, get him on at the other end where he looked SO good this morning. But definitely more of that effort ball into the pitch with his height just catches batsmen off guard.

Just on the no ball wicket, imo the wicket preparation at international level should never be painted free hand. Should always be using a straight edge. I found that bizarre when I heard that earlier.

NZ better hope some of this luck turns around fast and they start creating more chances, or it is  at best going to be a draw if they dont get in by tonight.

Finally commentary talking about moving the slips up, umm, yesterday after the 3rd one was the time to do it, not the 12th the next day. Let alone the 4 that have gone through slips.

Given that is where this NZ side take the majority of their wickets caught behind at home, that is telling of why they have struggled to bowl them out.

BUt forget that for a minute, Joy LBW not given and not reviewed when plum yeserday, there is 50 runs, today their Captain, caught behind, but Wagner arguably stepped over for a No Ball, then the desperate dive caught and bowled from KJ not stick, there is a solid 150 runs and 3 wickets and likely Bangers out around 250, without even moving the slips forward.

The last one to the on leg side slip to Nicholls, that was very close, hit his fingers same time at the turf.

Bangers have played very well. Whilst 12 edges falling short is an insane amount, it is still in NZ's control to do something about the slips. The bowling itself has done everything possible to get the wickets.

BINGO, Bangers luck runs out, the Captain gets 65 free runs but Boult finally gets him. NZ now have to finish this off ASAP, and almost play tomorrow like 65 overs at 5rpo leaving 4 sessions, highly unlikely, but if NZ gets the rub of the green and the slips move forward, who knows......

Yes finally the tail. If NZ can get Bangladesh out today then NZ play an ODI innings tomorrow and hopefully Day 5 will be enough to get Bangladesh out but I don’t think they will.
